Jason's POV~

Breathe, Jason, breathe. It's just Izzy, the girl you've known your whole life. Asking her to hang out with you isn't a big deal. Just walk up to her and be like, "Wanna hang out today?"

"Sir," a business-like voice sounded, snapping me out of my personal thoughts.

Blinking, my gaze went toward Izzy's gatekeeper. "Ah, yeah?"

"You can head in now."

I chuckled awkwardly. "Right, thanks." I smiled as he disappeared from my line of view.

Hitting the gas pedal lightly, I drove slowly into her backyard, heading towards her garage. This time the garage door was closed, so I just parked my car in front of it. Opening the car door, I took a moment, admiring her lovely marble home. No matter how many times I'd seen it, it's still breathtaking.

Taking in a big gulp of air, I made my way up the curved pathway to her front door. I gave it a soft knock and waited. When the door finally opened, I came face to face with Mrs. Ace. She gave me a surprised look before she composed herself and gave me a warm smile. "Jason? What are you doing here?"

"Um, I was wondering if I could speak with Isabella?" I asked, putting on a brave face. I didn't need her knowing I was nervous as heck.

"Why?" she asked, her face scrunching up in confusion.

I sighed, knewing she was going to ask that. "Just wanted to see if she's free to hang out today," I told her.

She hesitated a bit before she nodded. "Alright, but please be careful and bring her back home before it gets too dark," she instructed.

"Will do, Mrs. Ace." Even though I hated what happened that 'night', I couldn't blame her for being a little bit overprotective. I mean, it was my fault in the first place; if only I wasn't so stupid!

"Jason?" she asked, a worried expression plastered on her face. "You do know it's not your fault, right?"

Great... She saw. "I know..." But even when I said it, I didn't believe it.

"Jason, sweetie," Mrs. Ace said, tilting my chin up. My eyes met hers. "What happened that night wasn't your fault. Please don't think I blamed you for it. It was just bad luck, that's all."

I nodded, not knowing what else to say.

"Don't worry, I'll go get her. She's probably with John now," she said. Before she disappeared, she gave me one last encouraging smile.

In a few seconds I heard her voice, telling Isabella I was at the door. I waited patiently, taking deep breaths and trying to calm myself down. It's just Isabella, it's just Isabella. You've hung out with her lots of times before this, it's nothing new.

Yeah but never alone with her.

Oh... God, my inner voice was right. I'd never really hung out with her alone - not unless you count that one time in the library. But that was only a fifteen minute conversation, so that doesn't count.

Oh man, maybe I should just leave before-

Well, too late now.

My eyes moved slowly up her body, taking in her beauty. She looked absolutely gorgeous in jeans and a sweatshirt. When my grey eyes met her dark blue eyes, I was happy to know she wasn't wearing those stupid contacts.
