Why?

•Chapter 1•

-Maybe this was it maybe it was fate and he was supposed to leave me behind. I just didn't want to believe it.
Is this how I'm supposed to feel after my best friend tells me to leave him alone? We've been friends for over five years now and he just wants to stop talking to me.
Chase fucking Hudson, the boy I fell in love with. More importantly my best friend that I fell in love with. Why did he have to leave me. ? -

It was my ordinary day at the hell hole called school. I walked into second period found the nearest seat in the back and started to pull my belongings out of my bag. I put my notebook on my desk and grabbed a black pen from my pencil pouch. Just as I was setting my phone and water on my desk a tall boy with beautiful brown hair and piercing blue eyes bumped into me.  "Oh my god I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Here let me help you!" The beautiful creature said his voice laced with panic. "Yea yea I'm fine. It's okay." I replied grabbing his hand letting him pull me to my feet. "I'm so sorry I didn't see where I was going. I'm Chase by the way!" "It's okay trust me, I'm Ariel" i shook his hand and sat down in my seat. "Is this one taken" he asked pointing to the other chair under this table. "Oh no have a seat please" I replied while he gathered his belonging and sat down. We still had ten extra minutes of class left after the teacher lectured us so I decided to get on Snapchat. I sent my streaks and began playing with the filters. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Chase watching me, I scooted closer to him and pointed the camera at us taking a photo. "Can I have your snap?" Chase asked me as he pulled out his phone "oh yea it's (insert fake username)" within second I got a notification saying Chase Hudson added you! I quickly sent him the picture I had took and went to my Instagram to go live for the remainder of class. I started out with only a couple 20  viewers but the number quickly escalated as girls kept commenting "OH MY GOD SHE IS WITH CHASE HUDSON!" and "Follow her now!!" I showed him the comments and he rubbed the back of his neck. "Yea. Uhm I'm not famous or anything but there an app called TikTok that I began gaining followers on." I looked at him as he began to get up to leave. "Wait Chase! Do you want to eat lunch with me today?" I asked. Not because he was famous but because I could tell he didn't want the fame to define him. His eyes lit up as he formed a bright and beautiful smile on his face. "I'd love to" and with that the bell rang. I had a free hour so I would normally just go sit under the bleacher and draw so I did. "Hey Ariel wait up!" I heard the familiar voice from second period yell. I turned around in just enough time to stop him from falling. "Hey chase what's up?" I asked as we walked. "Oh nothing I was just wondering what period you have now?" He asked, eyes filled with hope. "I have a free period. What about you" I asked as we headed towards the bleachers outside. "No way me too! Wanna hang with me and my friends?" He asked stopping on the field. "Sure" he smiled even more and grabbed my hand running towards the other end of the bleachers. I hadn't noticed until we sat down that our hands were interlocked. I looked up to see him smiling down at our hands causing me to blush when he didn't let go.
