Ever liked someone forbidden? I have, and it sucks knowing I can't do anything about it. And there's also the fact that he will never see me in that way. It's been a while since I last saw him, four years to be exact.

"Sis, breakfast is ready." Matthew said while breaking me from my thoughts.

"Be right there, Matty." I replied with a smile. I grabbed my phone and joined them for breakfast. We still had a week left before school starts.

"Next week there will be a special someone and will live next door." Mom said while looking at me as she smiled.

"Really, who?" Matty asked.

"You'll see next week." Dad replied before drinking his coffee.

Okay, not sure who's moving next door, but I hope it's not some creepy guy or crazy neighbours. I prefer silence and peace.

After breakfast was over, I went to my car and picked up Jane and Christian Jane belongs to Aunt Victoria and aunt Trisha. They adopted her when she was only three years old.

Christian belongs to Donna and Matt. He was also three when they adopted him.

Christian and her are dating, been together for a year. Me on the other hand, I was fine being alone. It's not like I haven't been asked on dates. I just wasn't feeling it, they never made me feel that spark, or butterflies.

Not like he used to. I would always get butterflies when I saw him. Even though I was only 15 and he was 22, I had hopes he would at least noticed me in the way I wanted to, but it never happened. When I saw him with his girlfriend I cried. Only my mom and my friends knew I liked him.

I couldn't say it to my dad, mainly cause he's best friends with his dad. They would always do barbecues and that's how I met, Hunter Langdon. Till this day I still have a crush on him. I think it's time I move on, let's face it, I'm never gonna be with him.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Chris asked me.

"Just admiring the beautiful city that is Los Angeles." I smiled.

"She was thinking about Hunter." Jane chimed in. I just sighed.

"Everytime a guy ask me out, I just wished it was Hunter asking. But let's face it, that's a dream that will never come true." I replied while still focusing on the road.

"Skye, you're my best friend/cousin. It hurts to see you all sad cause of him." She added.

"I know it's silly to be sad over a crush, I decided I will move on from this and focus on school and all that jazz."

"How about you finally say yes to my friend, he keeps asking for you, he's on his first year of college, but he saw you on my insta and was mesmerized by your beauty." Chris said while looking at me through the rearview mirror.

"Fine, I'll meet him at this cute coffee house tomorrow." I replied and he just nodded. I told him what time we should meet. Hopefully I don't regret this.

We got off the car and went to the beach for a swim. These two always know how to cheer me up. I'd be lost without them. They were my only friends. We were actually the populars, but we were nice and not mean like most popular cliques are.

I only needed two friends and that's Christian and Jane. I rather have two real friends than a bunch of fake friends.

After spending time with them at the beach, I went home and took a shower and then changed to comfy clothes. I walked to to the living room and plopped on the couch.

"Hey sis." I look up to see Matty grabbing the remote TV control.

"Hey, lil bro." I got up and gave him a side hug.

"You're only older for two years, and I'm taller than you." He chuckled.

"You're still my little brother." I kissed his cheek. We barely fight. I'm so protective of him. This one girl treated him so bad, I ended up punching her. I got grounded but it was so worth it. No one treats my family bad and gets away with it.

"Who wants ice cream?" Mom asked. We both raised our hands, ice cream is life. That's my favorite dessert.

Sunday night came, and I was finishing getting ready for my blind date, I have no idea how he looks, who he is. All I know he is Christian's best friend.

Hopefully it goes well and maybe he might help me move on from this crush. He called me and said he was picking me up. I said I would meet him there, but he insisted.

He sent me a text saying he was outside. I walked towards his car and got inside. Okay so he's good looking. I know looks aren't important, but we all tend to be picky when it comes to men.

We got out of the car and walked inside the coffee house. We took a seat in the table booth. A waitress came over and took our orders. Minutes later she came back and gave us our food. I also noticed she placed a paper next to his order.

Didn't need to ask what it was, typical desperate girls seeking attention. I thought he was gonna rip it, but he actually shoved the paper in his pocket.

"So, Skye. Tell me about yourself." He asked before sipping his coffee.

"How about you tell me your name first, I still don't know it and we've been on this date for about thirty minutes." I said before sipping my coffee.

He did text me, but he never told me his name, figured he was being mysterious.

"Right, my name is Jack Hayes and I'm only 19 years old. I enjoy long walks on the beach and coffee." He said causing me to laugh.

"Well got you to laugh, you make me nervous." He said sheepishly.

"Really?" I said surprised.

"Yeah, you're just so beautiful, ever since I saw you on Chris insta profile, I was so mesmerized by you." That made me smile, he was actually sweet.

He was a bit taller than me, had hazel eyes and he was fit. But like always I wasn't feeling the date, jack was the type of guy for a friend.

"Thank you. And as far as tonight goes-"

"I know, I can tell you're not really into this date. That's fine, I enjoy talking to you. Even though you're a very intimidating person." He said causing me to laugh again.

"Must be my big blue eyes." I added while giving him a look. He just chuckled. We spent the rest of the night getting to know each other. He was really sweet, but I could only see him as a friend.

Someday I might meet that someone that will help me forget my crush. Until then, I think I was fine with not dating. Everytime was the same. I just want to meet someone who will make me feel butterflies and have a connection. Is that too much to ask?
