The human/elf war was in its tenth year when the humans began chopping down the Elven Forest. The elves were a mysterious people, and relied on hit-and-run tactics. The alliance of human kingdoms had very little understanding of how they lived, but knew where, and reasoned that slashing and burning their homelands would bring an end to them.
It turned out, they were right. But as the last elves lay dying, and they smiled watching the humans march to the polluted heart of their homeland. Their murderers didn't know what they long ago imprisoned in forest's heart.
