Chapter 12: Surprises

Val's P.O.V

" So where should we go first?" I asked Em.

" Pink?" she suggested.

" K." 

We walked into Pink and I found a pair of yoga pants, a sweatshirt, and a bra. Em got yoga shorts, a shirt and some underwear.

After Pink, we went to forever 21. I found a long blue maxi dress and a long gold necklace. Em got a black skater skirt, a hot pink crop top, and a flower ring.

We went to a few more stores then started riding home. We stopped at starbucks on the way home. I ordered a caramel frappe and Em got a java chip frappe. 

We found a seat and sat down.

" So how are you and Hayes?' she asked me.

" We're great. I'm just a little scared for school to start." 

" Why?" 

" Well, girls at Hayes' school are a lot more prettier and I feel like he would leave me for one of them." I told her.

" Val. You don't have to worry about that. Hayes is madly in love with you. If that does happen, which it won't, he's a real ass and will have to go through me." Em said.

" Thanks Em. Now, what about you and Taylor?" 

" We're good. I just don't know about this long distance thing." She told me.

" You don't have anything to worry about. Taylor is a good guy." 

" Yeah." 

" Well, ready to head home?" I asked,

" Yep."

We grabbed our bags and headed out of Starbucks.

 Taylor called Em so I took this time to call Hayes.

* On Phone*

H- Hello?

V- Hey babe

H- Hey gorgeous. What's up?

V- Heading home from the mall. Taylor called Em so I figured i would call you.

H- Well i'm happy you did.

V- Why is that?

H- I missed your beautiful voice.

I started blushing.

H- I know you're blushing Val

V- You're too sweet. Well Em is off the phone so I'll talk to you later. K?

H- Works for me. I love you.

V- I love you.

" What did Taylor call for?" I asked

" He called me saying he had a surprise but I don't know what it would be." 

When she said that Taylor texted me.

T- Hey I'm at your house surprising Em. Don't tell her.

V- HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET IN MY HOUSE?? But ok.

T- I asked Hayes where you live. 

V- Lol ok. We're almost home.

T- K. Perfect.

" Who are you texting Val?'

" Hayes."

We got to the driveway and put our pennyboards down. I opened the door first and smiled when I saw Taylor standing there.

" What are you smi-" 

Her face was shocked. She ran into his arms and started crying. 

I just walked out the door and headed to Hayes' house,

 I knocked and Elizabeth opened the door.

" Hey sweetie. C'mon in. Hayes is in his room." 

" Ok thank you." 

I walked up the stairs and found his room. 

I opened the door and he ran and gave me a hug.

" Hey! I thought you were hanging out with Em?" 

" I was but Taylor is over there so i gave them some time together."

" Well thats nice." 

" Oh yeah, I need to do something."

" Ok whats that?' He asked me.

i slapped his head.

" OW WHAT WAS THAT FOR?" he screamed.

" For giving Taylor my address. He texted me saying he was at my house. I about had a heart attack." 

" I'm sorry baby" He said pouting.

" Its ok." 

" So what do you want to do?" He asked,

" NETFLIX." I screamed.

" Ok calm down." 

For the rest of the afternoon we watched Netflix and cuddled.
