Chapter 5: Cafeteria Changes

Yesterday was fun as hell. I got to get the numbers of the people I played truth or dare with, so that was cool. Nick lectured me for a straight ten minutes, which I didn't bother listening to, of course. After a while he just shook his head and gave up.

"I don't know what to do with you, Ambrosia Star." He says sighing.

"Stop being so overprotective; I had a lot of fun. You should've seen that guy. He was so hot. I hope I  see him today, to be honest. Maybe we could finish what we started back there, you know?" I say winking at him

"I'll see you at lunch Star." He says patting my head as we split to go to our different classes.

Like always we ran to the cafeteria line when the bell rings. I frowned when we sit down at our usual spot. Rosie and Lucy weren't there.

"Where do you think they went off to?" I ask him; they usually got here at the same time as us.

He shrugs, " I haven't got a clue, but who is she?" he asks nodding his head towards the girl walking over towards us waving. It was Mia, from the party last night. I smiled at her and wave back at her. Surprisingly, she was a senior? She looked younger than me.

"Hey Ambrosia!" She says pulling me into a hug as she sits down. "Is he your boyfriend?" she asks, frowning at me. She was probably confused as hell because I did make out with Chris just yesterday.

I chuckle, "No we're just friends. I could never date him." I say wrinkling my nose in disgust. "Nick, this is Mia. you picked me up from her house yesterday." I say introducing them.

"My name's Mia. Mia Charlotte!" she says grabbing his hand and shaking it, "Its nice to meet you, Nick."

"You too, kiddo." He says pulling his hand back.

She crosses her arms and scoffs, "Who are you calling kiddo? I am older than you."

"I call everyone kiddo...kiddo." He said in matter of factly.

"You don't call me kiddo." Natalie said as she joined the table next to Nick, planting a kiss on his cheek.

"Hey Nat, we missed you at school yesterday." I tell her.

"I came down with a fever during the weekend. But I'm much better now, fortunately. Who's this?" she asked nodding to Mia.

"My name's Mia. Mia Charlotte!" Mia replied pulling Natalie into a hug, "So you're this hottie's girlfriend?" she asks winking.

Nat chuckled, "You bet I am." she said pulling him into a hug.

Nick lifted her head up and planted a kiss on her lips, "I'm glad that you're feeling better."

"Would you guys get a room already? I groaned, rolling my eyes.

Nat's cheeks go red and she shook her head, "I'm not like you, Sia."

"HEY! What's that supposed to mean?!"They all burst out laughing and soon enough, I join in with them.

Even though my relationship with Rosie and Lucy is starting to fade away, I'm happy to still have them, and that's enough. Although, I do miss them loads. Even Mia is turning out to be cooler than I expected her to be. As the school days go past, I have that to look forward to. When we all just sit there, eating that disgusting cafeteria food, cracking jokes and laughing our asses off.

"How old do you think I am?" Mia asked us all one day.

"16 maybe." Nat guessed.

"I agree with Nat, you look younger but you're a senior so there's no way." I say.

"13." Nick blurted an absolute idiot if I may add.

"You idiot! Why would she be a SENIOR in High school if she was only 13?!" I asked him, shaking my head.

"I can never know these days." He said, shrugging.

"You guys were close." She says addressing me and Nat, "I'm 17."

"Wow, it'll be hard for you to get into clubs when you're finally 21." Nick says. "My little sister probably has a better chance than you."

Both Nat and I slap the back of his head. "That's not what you're supposed to say, Nick." Nat says shaking her head.

"I'm complimenting her youth right now. What's so wrong with that?" He asks throwing his hands up.

The rest of the day is pretty much boring after lunch, everyone goes back to their own classes, and if I'm lucky enough I can share one with Nat or Nick, or even Mia. The rest of the day is, thus, pretty much normal.
