"Ari, go and get some more wood please." My mother tells me.
"Okay." I say, grabbing the wood collecting bag and leaving to go get more wood. I walk for about fifteen minutes collecting some big but still small wooden logs/sticks.
I snap my head around to see a mountain lion, it growls as it's muscles tense getting in a strike position. I slowly put the bag down and take slow steps back as it crouch down lower, still growling. I'm gonna die and I'm okay with that, I've told my mom that I love her, so it's okay.
It lands on me causing me to scream as loud as I can. It's claws ripping into my skin, mouth biting into my shoulder. I try to lift with all my strength but this animal is made from pure muscle and hunger, there isn't a chance for me to make it out of this alive, but I can't go down without a fight, I owe my mother that.
I position both my legs under it's stomach and push with all the strength in my body. It gets off, I lift myself up and run, run yelling for help. I lean against a tree, vision getting blurry, breaths coming quick, and suddenly I'm on the ground. It pounced on my from behind. I let out a blood curtailing scream as it's canines pierce through my skull.
Suddenly the weight is lifted from my body, I turn my head enough to see a figure above me.
"You okay, Arielle. You're gonna be okay." The familiar voice says as my vision goes black.
This sounds bad, but I am so proud of this chapter for some reason. Also I love mountain lions and while writing this, I believed that it was just looking for food. Animals live in a do or die world, they hunt for food not to kill.
