She could tell that everyone had their eyes on her, just because of the fact that she had been the one to bring everyone back from the Soul Stone. She glanced over her shoulder at a few of the heroes and they all gave her a smile as she did. Giselle couldn't help herself but return the smile that they gave her before she looked back ahead of her.
But when she turned her attention back in front of her, her eyes landing on the Guardians. She found herself pausing in her steps as she stared at them, seeing that they were all happy with their reunions. There was part of her that wanted to push toward them and pull them all into a group hug, but she knew that she couldn't do that. She had made a deal with death and now she was going to have to deal with the fact that she was going to have to go through with it soon enough.
The looks on all of their faces as they stared at her, all of them sharing similar emotions. Peter and Calix were engulfed in each other's arms and when they saw Giselle, large grins appeared on their lips. Giselle's eyes wandered over Nebula and Pandora, Rocket and Groot, and all of them. She pressed her lips together as her eyes landed on Mantis and she gave the woman that she loved a large smile before her eyes fell on the final person in their circle.
Alaska secluded herself from the rest of the world around her, and Giselle noticed. She wondered why Calix hadn't stood by her side during her hardship, and she figured that it was all because of the fact that she had lost the love of her life. Loki was that one person who was able to change her more than anything. But that wasn't all that she lost; she lost her sisters, her family, everyone that she had ever loved.
And that was what broke Giselle.
The Caster pushed her way through the room until she stood beside Alaska. The Queen of Obron wasn't looking in her general direction until she turned her head to the blonde Caster. Alaska gave the woman a look for a few seconds before she looked off at the other heroes.
"What a wonderful world," Alaska spoke softly as she shook her head slightly. The Queen looked back over to Giselle for a few moments, before she gave her a small nod. "I feel as if I have been a failure for the longest time, and just seeing the victory that we have here . . . I am glad to be part of something so great."
"The loss of your family, your home, any of it― it's not your fault, Alaska," Giselle attempted to reason, and Alaska only shook her head. "No, it's not," She stepped in front of the Queen and rested her hands on her shoulders. "You did what every great rulers do. You ruled. You did everything in your power to try and attempt the prevention of the loss of your people. No one could've done more for Obron than you."
"And Loki?" Alaska questioned him. "What about him?"
"Alaska, I promise you, I will do whatever I can with my powers to bring him back. I will do whatever I can, to make sure that you have whatever happiness that you need," Giselle spoke, and Alaska gave her a small smile as she nodded her head to her. Alaska reached for the Caster and rested a hand on her shoulder, before resting a hand on her belly. Giselle glanced down to it, to see that her baby bump had continued to grow. The Caster rested her hand on Alaska's pregnant belly and gave her a smile. "You and your child will continue to prosper as you have already."
"Thank you, Giselle," Alaska replied to her before glanced over Giselle's shoulder to the Guardians, her eyes narrowed in on Mantis. The Queen nodded her head to them and she gave Giselle a kind smile. "Go," She nodded. "Go spend time with them. Because I feel that the end is not so near as we all believe."
The two of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before Giselle took the Queen's advice. She turned around and made her way back over to where the Guardians were and they all began to celebrate. But during their little celebration amongst dozens of other celebrations, Giselle couldn't help but look over to Alaska as she made her way over toward Thor and the others. She couldn't help but wonder what the Queen meant by what she had said.
But then she knew that Alaska was right, just as she always had been. The end of their fight with Thanos may have come to an end, but the fight that they had was far from over.
