Three days of puking and three more days of rest, and I'm ready for Dr. Gavin to release me.
"I haven't thrown up in days!"
"But you should still stay here. You might go home and throw up."
I roll my eyes at him, a smile on my face.
"I love you, silly. I'll be back tomorrow. I just want to go back to Andy's and gather some clothes. I don't live here, remember?"
"Yet."
I give him a playfully scolding look. Even though we said 'I love you', I told him I still want to move at my own pace with living with him.
"Okay, just take it easy. I don't want you to get my godson sick."
"Brayden is your godson?"
"Yeah. Have I never mentioned that?"
I shake my head.
"No. I just think that's cute because I'm his godmother."
He cocks his head, something clearly running through his mind.
"They made the biological mother the godmother?"
"I'm Andy's best friend and they legally adopted him. I'm not looking to take custody of him."
Gavin makes a face but drops it.
"I'll probably be back tomorrow after work, okay?"
"Of course, beauty."
He presses his soft, warm lips to my forehead.
"I love you so much, Skye Knight."
