I'm not usually this bipolar,
but I'm seeking answers,
and weeks of texting has
taught me;
He likes avoiding serious conversations,
favoring jokes,
instead of facing
the reality of the situations.
"Tell me what happened at the game"
He even sighs like a black bear
as he runs his paws through his
matching hair.
"Do you really want to know?"
Her stare could cut diamonds.
"Okay. Okay."
"There's this thing that happens.It's
like a pressure constantly building,
a heat that never stops warming,
until my kernel breaks
and I react.
Like popcorn."
She remains silent,
so I continue.
"I lash out, mostly on my
bag- a punching bag I use
so I don't hurt anyone.
Like today, with Eric,
he hit me with the ball,
and it's like someone
poured hot oil on me
and I exploded."
Ellie - Fingers
"That's it?
You have anger issues?"
My laugh comes
quick, hysterical.
"And here I was,
thinking that you broke fingers for fun
and that I was insane
for liking you instead of being afraid."

PoetryMy first Novel-in-Verse! I think this is finally a story I can create start to finish. Ellie is a poet, Lucas has a past that would make for some powerful poetry.
