Golden Boy

I was on the rooftop, the sky was empty, I could so easily get lost.
When I'm above this city, it feels so small,
It's a perfect illusion, I could risk it all.
When I see the golden hour at dusk,
I sigh, I think I might just be enough.
So if I never become that golden boy,
I'll be okay, as long as I stay true to this golden boy.

In years to come,
I could be someone, someone who's name is on everyone's lips,
Or I could be the one you like to kiss.
I don't know where the hell I'm gonna go,
Maybe I'll be high, maybe I'll be low.
I'll look back at this time in my life,
And wonder why I had sleepless nights.
Because, I'll be okay if I never become that golden boy.

The birds are soaring during the golden hours,
I can feel their strength, their liberating powers.
The waves are crashing during the golden hours,
I can feel them raging, creating the bravest of cowards.

I'm okay if I never become that golden boy,
As long as I have my health, my happiness and my family,
Nothing in life is worth the worry.
I'll write my days away, living on a cloud,
I'm not that golden boy, but I do feel proud,
Proud of what I have accomplished and proud of who I am today,
Nothing and nobody can take that away.
