I AM SCREAMING AT THE 11TH EPISODE SKSKSKSNDIS

sorry this was late, ya girl is busy w/ some application stuff.

Amelia

I felt like absolute crap, but I've come to the conclusion that it was simply caffeine deprivation. I couldn't live without it. I'd die.

Drama queen.

I laughed inwardly. I was always the most dramatic among the four of us.

My phone beeped, and I checked it. It was a message from Izzy, telling me to meet her and Alec in the armory. They apparently had fantastic news, which I doubt, judging by the way Izzy had capitalized 'FANTASTIC.'

Grabbing my coffee, I took a sip and hummed in approval as I made my way to the armory.

And when I got there, they were both looking down.

"What's up with you two?" I asked, grabbing a chair.

Alec gestured to my coffee and I waved him off, telling him to knock himself out with my coffee. He and I liked the same coffee anyway.

Izzy was about to reply, when Magnus entered. "There you are! Good news: the Core is off the ley line grid and free of demonic corruption."

"That's good news." Alec said. "Thank you."

"All righty then I'll make myself scarce." Magnus sighed.

I gestured to him in agreement as I sipped my coffee.

"We just got a fire message from Mom, saying she's "dropping by" for an impromptu "family dinner."" Izzy said, making a helluva a lot of quotation marks.

Magnus voiced my thoughts. "Those are a lot of air quotes."

"Mom doesn't just drop by for anything." Alec sighed.

"Yeah," his sister agreed. "We're thinking it has to do with her and Dad."

Oh. "They're finally making their divorce official?" I asked.

"My condolences." Magnus said.

"It's for the best." Alec breathed out. "Problem is, instead of just being sad like a normal person, she starts trying to fix everyone around her."

I snorted. Maryse Lightwood was one of the strictest mothers I had ever met, and that included my mother. "Which usually includes grilling you two on everything she thinks is going wrong in your lives."

"Ugh, I'm going to get it the worst! She's practically cool with you now, Alec, since you're already married!" Izzy whined.

"So where are you holding this suspenseful dinner?" Magnus asked the two siblings.

"Definitely not here." Alec said. "The Institute tends to bring out her inner Inquisitor." He said, making a small emphasis on the word Inquisitor.

"How about my place?" Magnus proposed.

"Magnus, you don't have to–" Alec began, but the warlock only interrupted.

"I insist. You can have the place all to yourselves." He said.

An idea suddenly popped into my head. "You should be there. To...you know, measure things out."

"I suggested the place, Ames. I don't want to be the tension diffuser too."

Izzy grinned. "I think it's a great idea."

Magnus rolled his eyes. "Fine."

I pecked my husband's cheek. "See? If Magnus is there being his usual charming self, Maryse won't have time to interrogate you."
