Chapter 1

Entry #9

I was barely 17 when Superman died. When Diana came back to the Amazon’s island, she asked me to accompany her to Metropolis. There I would fly under her wing as she trained me so that one day I’ll join the Justice League.

It’s been 8 months since I arrived here in Metropolis, and 6 months since Superman died. After moving in with Diana, I had already familiarized myself with my surroundings and with it’s people and heroes alike.  But Diana asked me to try and adapt to their world. She wants me to have a 'home' here. And become more... human. Although wasn’t I human enough?? Never mind that, the matter at hand is Lex Luther’s new launch of the ‘new Superman'. What is Luther’s plan?? Till next time.

                  ~your Amazon~

“(Y/n), get dressed” Diana had just knocked and opened my door as I ended my journal entry. She stood at my doorway in her uniform and in her hand was... ice cream? I'll never understand Diana?

“Casual or Formal?” My voice has no emotions of any sort behind this. If there is one thing I've learned from the Gods, it is that emotions are useless and can only hold you back.

“Formal. Your mission to protect Lois Lane at the launch will begin soon.” He gave brighten up a little at the name. I'm guessing she made herself a gal pal.

“I’ll get dressed.” I turned from her and ended my entry with my signature. As I put my journal in my drawer, Diana asked me something I haven’t heard from her ever.

“(Y/n)... will you be okay?” The amount of concern fell off her word and emotions mixed with her voice so much that it truly disgusts me. Her time here made her soft. She isn’t the Diana I remember. She changed.

“I’ll be fine...” My voice grew stern and sharp, in hopes she would leave.

The amount of tense silence grew with every passing second she stood there. Until she finally closed the door and left. I expect I didn't know, till then, that I was holding my breath until I breathed a sigh of relief.

I had changed into a baby blue sleeveless dress with a silver glitter waist band and collar. As it fell to my feet, I ran my hands over the silk while returning to the find past with the Amazons.

They had made this for me, in celebration of my birth

They had made this for me, in celebration of my birth. As a demigoddess of Justice, I was loved on the island. Although, being here doesn't feel as good as the island did. Alas, someone scenced a danger and the League needed as much help as they could get.

Then Doomsday caused chaos and I was asked to stay. Besides, it was Superman who asked me if I would one-day join them. I will not reject a fallen hero's last wish to me. He was the one man who wasn't like the Queen of the Amazons said men were like.

As I waited for Lois, I did 3 perimeter checks and already locked onto my targets. From what I’ve found, the ’new Superman' is just a clone. More and more people gathered around as they waited in anticipation for their new hero. I had finally found Lois and made my way to her side.

“Lois, it’s nice you could finally make it.”

“Ah, hello Wonder Girl. I’m guessing you’re here to protect me. You know, I’ve always wanted to interview you.”

“My name is not Wonder Girl and I have no time for those kind of trivial activities. Now if you would kindly try and stay in my sight. We have a job to do.”

“Well then...” Lois's voice died off with my harsh tone, but I was only giving her a reality check.

Her eyes darted away and landed on Luther. The anger burned in her eyes for a good while until she took a breath and faced me a serious expression. Finally.

“What have you learned so far?”

“The ’new Superman' is a clone. The scientist that helped him is standing next to him in a blue suit. I haven’t learned his name yet.”

“Excellent, all that is next is to confront Lex Luther.”

As Lois Lane walked over to Luther, he headed toward his podium. He talked about a safer Metropolis. As I began to tune him out, a statement of his caught my attention.

“I give you Lex Corps new Superman.”

I then heard a small boom and soon see a young boy, around my age, fly. The boy wonder landed on the stage and ran his hand though his black silky hair with his gloved hands. He popped his collar and waved to the crowd as if he was a ultimate celebrity. What a Ass.

He hand finally found me, staring at him, and gave me a cheeky smile, pulled down his shades, and gave me a wink. I simply scoffed and turned away only to find Lois missing. Great. Just great.

I look toward the stage once more to also find the scientist gone. Lois must have gone to investigate. For a woman like her, she's pretty smart.

Boy wonder took off his sunglasses, threw them to the crowd and as hands reached up, but none prevailed, the glasses landed in my hands. He then grabbed the mic and said, “Ladies. If you want a real hero, measure up-“

As Luther took the mic, the boy wonder gave Luther a look when he look, and looked back to me and blew me a kiss.

Disgusting. How can the women be okay with this? This is the reason I wanted to stay on the island. What does Diana find in this place when our home is safer and far more beautiful?

I left to a corner hidden from the party’s eyes and suited up. When I had finally changed into my uniform, I sat on the roof watching over the party.
