Brian's POV

"Get me another beer." Matt called out.

I wanted to yell out 'Get off your ass and get your own beer.' but I didn't, I got him a beer and sat down.

"Where's Amber?" I asked him.

"Her and Becca went shopping or something." He was staring at the television.

I nodded, I didn't know why he was here, I guess he was just bored.

Another knock at my door. All I wanted was a quiet day, that was it, but no.

I opened the door to Zack.

"Hey." He said walking in. "I have something to show you."

He followed me into the T.V room where Matt was.

Matt barely glanced up at him.

"So what do you want to show me?" I asked him.

He was about to tell me when Matts phone interrupted us. He walked out of the room to answer it.

"Is it just me or is he a miserable prick?" Zack asked.

"I have no idea."

Matt walked back in. "I gotta go." He grabbed his keys and walked out.

"See ya." I called as he slammed the door.

I looked at Zack. "So?"

"Oh." He pulled his phone out of his pocket. "Look at this."

He handed me his phone and I looked at it. There was a message from Amelia.

Sorry can't make it Saturday, other plans.

I looked back at Zack. "Wait." He said. "There's more."

Next was a message from Mark, saying virtually the same thing.

"Ha, maybe they have something on." I suggested.

"Oh I saved the best for last, from Adrienne."

Zack, I won't be coming because frankly I don't want too.

This was not her, this wasn't something she'd write.

"I have no idea." Zack said.

"Well did you call her?" I asked him.

"She doesn't answer, it just goes to voice mail."

I sat back, thinking. "It won't be the same if they don't come."

Shit, we'd always done everything together, admittedly we didn't spend as much time together anymore but they were still important to us.

"It doesn't add up Brian, somethings going on."

Zack was right, something was going on, I intended to find out what.

"I'll go and see her." I said standing up.

"Adrienne?"

I nodded, of course Adrienne, we had always been close, hopefully she'd talk to me.
