Inside the Witches' Library, the books lined themselves up, waiting to be checked out. They covered a wide variety of subjects and genres, much like the witches themselves.
In the first light of dawn, they lounged, having absorbed the atmosphere of their readers, as is one of the side-effects of witchcraft. It gets into unexpected places.
A key turned in the lock and the books froze. The new junior librarian shuffled in behind a huge paper cup of coffee. Somewhere a joke book tittered softly. It was her first week. She had no idea what she was in for.
