"I don't know what to do." Scott mumbled when he read the letter and saw the ridiculous amount of cash inside of the envelope. His eyes were watery until Wesley waddled into the room and asked if he was okay. "I'm alright, buddy," Scott picked him up and kissed his cheek. "Don't worry,"
"Wessy," I started, "did you show daddy the new toy we got at the store today?" He shook his head. "Why don't you go grab it?"
"Yeah," Scott smiled, "go get your toys, buddy. We can go play in the backyard for a little before bed,"
Wesley nodded and once he was in his room, Scott reached for the money and counted it, before shaking his head once more.
"How much is in there?" I asked, sitting next to my boyfriend.
"A few thousand, I think."
"Yeah. I had no clue he had that type of money to just hand out. I mean.. the last I heard, he was homeless and a druggie,"
"I think it might be time to talk to your father, Scott," He looked up. "I know he hurt you and I know you're still recovering, but maybe talking to him will help you heal?"
"I— I don't want to give him the satisfaction of knowing we need the money. I don't- I don't want to accept this,"
"I know," I wrapped my arm around him as he leaned against me. I ran my fingers through his hair and gently massaged his scalp, as it always helped him relax a little. "But maybe sitting down and talking to him about why he left and why he waited so long to reach out, will help you finally move on? You don't have to forgive him, but you're hurting yourself by not talking about it,"
"I know. I just.. I don't want to bring him into Wesley's world and then have him just get up and leave like he did before,"
"Then you don't have to bring him in. There's nothing wrong with that,"
"Will you come with me? I- I don't know if I can see him and not stop myself from losing it,"
I nodded, kissing his temple. "Of course I'll come with you, love."

Scott let out a heavy sigh when he opened the gift Seth had given us right before the gender reveal party. Neither of us had opened it, but since I found the envelope on my car, Scott had been fighting with himself on if he should open it or not.
"What's in it?" I asked, my hand on my stomach.
"It's—" he shook his head and sat next to me, a small stuffed bear in his hands. "It's a bear I always carried with me, when I was a kid. His— his names Beary,"
"Thats really sweet, Scott,"
He nodded. "I didn't- I didn't know he actually kept it. I threw it away when these guys from football found out and made fun of me. I was like, six or seven and I was mad at myself for letting them see the bear in my bag. I threw it away and— and I guess Seth found out and kept the bear. God.." he shook his head, staring at the button eyes of the stuffed bear. "I can't believe he kept it all this long.. sixteen years? God.."
"Are you okay, love?" I asked as I interlocked our hands. His face was soft, but his eyes were full of different emotions until he looked up and nodded.
"I think it's time I talk to my dad."
