Lilykit gazed at the snow. It was swirling around her like a white, fluffy hurricane. She could just see the tops of the gigantic oak and maple trees above, they were snowy white against the night sky. Her fluffy orange pelt was a bright becon in the middle of it; two green jewels peering out from the top. She let out a gasp as the snow began to turn in on itself. There was millions of unique creations gently fluttering to land on her fur untill she was cover with one layer of slightly overlapping snowflakes, each design prominantly showing off it's perfection.
Careful to not disturb the miracle, she gingerly tried to step outside the now still circle of snow on the ground surrounding her. However, the moment her paw was reaching out of the circle, the snowflakes seemed to melt away. She quickly pulled her paw back and eagerly watched as a new perfect design seemed to fade up and glow on her paw. "Lilykit," A faint whisper seemed to come from the glowing white trees around her. Her fiery tail began to flick with the excitement.
"Yes?" She breathed, the only sound echoing off the trees in the winter night.
"Remember the snow...." It finished as the ice flakes seemed to sharply peirce her pelt. She glanced around wildly as the air seemed to get colder and colder, the once peaceful circle of snow around her vanishing. Without warning the fiery orange kit with the summer green eyes was pulled out of the snow.

"Wake up!" A black tom glanced playfully at her, amber eyes sparkling. "Seems like you've been sleeping for ages!"
Lilyfire carefully picked her way out of the snow that had been dumped on her, pretending to be half asleep. Putting her front paws forward as to stretch, she gathered her hind legs together and quickly pounced on the black tom.
"Emberflame," she panted, "this is for waking me up!" She poured snow on his face. Spluttering, he tried to get up but she held him down with a smile. "And this is for the snow!" And with that she thrust him forward into the snow her fluffy orange pelt was covered with a second ago. Thoroughly covering him untill his black pelt was white, she enjoyed playful revenge. Finally she let him go, and her and her mate flopped down in the snow together.
"So," Emberflame said, midnight tail fliking to and fro, "What did you dream about?" It was habit for the couple to talk about their dreams with each other every mourning.
Lilyfire thought about the night. "All I can remember now is you dumping a load of snow on me." she nudged him playfully. Suddenly her eyes widened as she was struck with the dream. The ice flakes whirled past her kit eyes as thoughts filled with magic flickered through her brain. "Snow..." She whispered. "Remember the snow..." Emberflame looked funny at her.
"Did I conk your head or something whilst that snow was poured on your head? You hate snow! You've always said, 'My eyes are summer eyes, my fur stands out in the snow, it's cold, blah, blablah, blablah..." He trailed off as Lilyfire rolled her eyes at him.
"Of coarse I'm fine. If anything, I gave you a beating from the snow," she teased, "Besides, it was just a weird dream I had." She added, noticing the confusion in his deep amber eyes.
He shrugged. "Whatever." Smiling, he offered, "Are you sure your not converted to the snow side? I could tell Jaystar that you would like to go on the snow bank digging patrol today..." He jumped back farther into the drift to avoid being shoved into the snow again. "Ok, ok!" He laughed. With this start to the morning, she thought it would be a perfect day. Other than the fact it was cold and snowy outside.

Her mouth was full of feathers, but pride coursed through her heart. She had caught the first pheasant they had seen in months. Replays of the event went through her mind, but she shook them off. 'It was a bit weird,' she thought to herself, 'I thought I would've fallen for sure on those icy branches and make a fool out of myself, but not only did I stay balanced I didn't slip either!' She held her head up higher. When they got to the camp, after traveling past row after row of frozen, bare trees, the patrol suddenly stopped. Cats were racing out of the camp, yowling a battle cry as they slipped on the ice.
"Riverclan has called an attack!" Jaystar screeched, "They think they can beat us because they are dominant over water and ice! But Thunderclan attacks! Go to the river!" Lilyfire and the patrol dashed to the fresh-kill pile, throwing up snow in their wake. They carefully placed their catch down, then sprinted to try to catch up with the rest of the patrol. It was no use. The other cats were already speeding as fast as they could, and jumping over frozen logs and icy patches was hard. Lilyfire looked up to see the tree branches ahead zooming past, then her paw felt something very cool and hard under it. She glanced down quickly, and she was running on ice! Emberflame had stopped before the river because he knew that for the cats it would be impossible to pass.

Lilyfire looked back to see Emberflame staring bewildered on the bank. She nodded at him to go and raced off into the woods on the other side; she had a plan. Slowing down as she heard the sharp yowls and screams of cats fighting, she trotted just inside the tree line. She noticed Emberflame catch on to what she was doing and melted back into the trees on the other side. She wanted to ambush the cats hopefully fighting on the other side of the river, but all of a sudden she noticed dark shapes racing across the river ahead of her and about to get into the trees.

She made up her mind fast. If they were fleeing then Thunderclan obviously won, but what if they were running back because they won? Stealthily she dodged out of the tree line and took a quick glance at the other side while running to catch up with the Riverclan warriors. She was right on her decision. Most of the Thunderclan warriors stood around a very bloody cat, she assumed they had called a retreat because Jaystar was hurt. As Lilyfire ran ahead into the Riverclan warriors’ field of vision, they let up a yowl.
Lilyfire smiled as the patrol veered to intercept her. She felt a rush of adrenaline that she had never heard of before, and even though she was about to fight a bunch of warriors by herself giddy happiness spread through her. She stopped, facing the Riverclan warriors as they puffed to a stop.
"Riverclan, attack!" A lone cat jumped out from the ranks and came at me hissing. Before even Lilyfire or the warriors knew what was happening, a clump of snow appeared out of nowhere as it fell on his head.
"Nice luck you got." Another Riverclan warrior, a younger one this time, paced out towards Lilyfire. "No more trees to drop snow on me, is there." He challenged, snarling.
"There was never any to begin with." She replied as a big snow ball came hurling at him from the sky. He jumped to the side to dodge it as the rest of the patrol gazed wearly at the sky. The fiery orange Thunderclan warrior smirked as about 2 dozen badger-sized snow balls came zooming towards the Riverclan warriors. They turned tail and ran, as Lilyfire seemed to float on the snow after them.
Emberflame found the rest of the Thunderclan warriors defeated. Long faced defined the outcome of the battle. "What happened?" He asked a nearby apprentice.
"Jaystar got hurt so we stopped fighting when we were winning." She replied, "But that doesn't make a difference now because there's no one to fight for the land."
Suddenly the sound of yowls reached their ears. The Riverclan warriors they were fighting just a bit ago had appeared, scared out of their tails. Jaystar being ok, the Thunderclan warriors leapt up to meet them. Before they started to fight, a murmer of disbelieve went up among all the cats. Out of the forest came a swirling snowstorm around a fiery orange she-cat. Being higher up, she soon floated down and shot a smile at Emberflame.
Even being a little in shock, the Thunderclan warriors jumped to action and won an easy victory against Riverclan. Lilyfire was never known to hate snow again. She often could be seen in battles, twisting around in mid air as snowballs rained down on the opponents, always a gigantic smile on her face. As an elder, she always reminded kits to remember the snow, as there were many advantages.
