Before anyone could protest, you made several hand signs. "Shade Style: Shadow Wave!" Your signature dark miasma surrounded the clearing impairing everyone's vision. You smiled as you watch all your students start to panic, looking around frantically.
"Calm down, guys. It's just a jutsu. You're all fine." You reassured them.
Sasuke glared in your direction. "We can't see anything! How can you tell that we're disoriented?"
"My Kekkei Genkai allows me to see in the dark. Not clearly, just outlines of figures. But I can still see my surroundings."
"Then what was the whole point of your dungeon-bear lessons if you could still see?" Sakura asked in irritance.
You chuckled again. "Well, I had my 'dungeon-bear' lessons before I awakened my Kekkei Genkai. I just got lucky that my eyes let me see in the dark."
You nearly yelped as a hand wrapped around your waist, the warmth of a body nuzzling you from behind. You glanced back to see it was Kakashi, resting his head in the crook of your neck. "Later, Kashi." You whispered furiously as his warm breath tickled your ear.
"(Y/N)-sensei? Are you still there?" Naruto asked.
"Yeah, I'm just- ah!" You put a hand over your mouth as the silver haired ninja pulled his mask down, gently biting at your ear lobe.
"Sorry sweetie, but I have more important things to do." You seethed before slipping out of his grasp.
He chuckled, pulling his head band up to reveal his Sharingan. "I'm hurt."
You rolled your eyes. "Kakashi, although I love you to pieces, I am currently occupied with teaching our students some life or death type shit, so kindly fuck off until later."
"Define later." The man teased.
"Tonight." You assured him before walking toward your students. They were all occupied with groping through the dark, trying to find a way out of the miasma.
"Not so fast, Uchiha." You grabbed onto Sasuke's shoulders and steered him back toward the center of the darkness after he got too close to the edge.
"Everyone come to the sound of my voice." You commanded.
Sakura and Naruto stumbled toward you, there hands stretched out in front of them.
"This is really weird." Sasuke grumbled from beside you.
You ignored him. "Alright, so the first thing to understand during this lesson is not to fear. If you find yourself in a position of blindness, don't panic. Don't ever dwell on your situation, focus on the task at hand. If you have a fear of the dark, now is the part where I help you overcome it."
"Agh!!!" Sakura screamed as she ran into Naruto. "There's a monster!!!"
Blondie backed away from her, disoriented. "I felt it too! (Y/N)-sensei, please don't let it kill us!"
You did a face palm, Sasuke following suit. "You guys just bumped into each other, calm down." The Uchiha reasoned.
"And I would never let anyone kill you!" You defended yourself.
Before anyone could make a comment, you continued talking. "We'll start with some simple training exercises. Work on centering your balance even though you can't see. Also, listen to your surroundings. Observe with your ears. I'll give you guys five minutes to adjust."
You went silent, watching your students listen attentively to everything around them. You did the same, closing your eyes to relish the darkness.
Leaves rustled in the trees, birds chirped from far off. Footsteps sounded as your pupils stumbled around.
