"Wakey wakey, come on, it's time to wake up."
It is bright, really bright. There's too much sunlight, the back of his eyelids hurt seeing the brightness of the room and he groans, shutting his eyes tight and leans back.
No, that's not where he's supposed to be.
Hyunjin sits up straight, confused as to where he's seated. Being on a bed wasn't where he was last night, and if he remembers correctly, he was sitting on the chair next to Seungmin's bed so why is he here now? He's even more puzzled to find Felix Lee and Han Jisung on the end of his bed, grinning widely.
So, this is what the end of the world looks like.
"Take it easy, broski," Felix tells the boy, slowly and gently pushing Hyunjin to lie back down on his bed. "You want water?"
Confused, but Hyunjin still takes up Felix's offer. His throat is dry, the back of his eyelids are scalding hot and his hands are clammy. A small headache is on its way, but Hyunjin prays that it will pass fast.
After gulping down the liquid, Hyunjin places the glass on his table. "Seungmin," he says, "is he awake?"
Before Jisung could answer him, a small marble flies above the shut curtains next to him, landing on his lap. "I'm here brother!" Seungmin's voice calls out from where the marble flew out from.
"All in one piece?"
"One piece, add a few broken bones!"
"Not the time to joke, Seungmin!" Hyunjin tells him in a sing-song tone, nevertheless satisfied with the answer his friend said.
Now, Hyunjin stares at the two boys in front of him through the squint of his eyes. "I know house rivalries are so 1998, but what are you two doing here?"
"Question is, why are you here?"
"Answering question with question?" Hyunjin laughs bitterly, "nice going, Lix."
"You did it too just then," Jisung points out. Hyunjin throws the boy a dirty look, "if you were Felix Lee I would already hunt you down."
"House rivalries are so 1998," Jisung fires at him, repeating his exact words from barely a minute ago.
"Which is why we came to see how you're doing!" Felix cheers, "you look horrible, by the way."
Hyunjin scoffs. "Gee, thanks."
Then, Madam Pomfrey comes rushing through the hall. "Oh thank Goodness, you're awake now, Hyunjin!" she says, pushing Felix and Jisung to the side before pressing the back of her hand to his forehead. "You didn't drink the pill I gave you, now did you?"
Oh right, the pill.
Hyunjin shakes his head no, grinning sheepishly. "Stupid boy," Madam Pomfrey says, now shoving yet another pill and a glass of water to him. "Drink this, you want to play tomorrow, right?"
