Jeanylice .

I heard a knock at my front door and jumped up from the couch.

"I don't know why you invited his ass over." Chris said following me to the door.

I opened the door and it was August, he was frozen and his face was full of fear.

"Are you alright?" I questioned.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine."

We all took a seat on the couch- 'we' as in August, myself and Chris.

"Um, ya' know.. Chris used to live hea', right?"

"Yeah, I know that."

"And, he died here too."

"I know."

"Ya' good with dat?"

"Yeah I'm fine, you want something to drink?"

"Um, nah. I'm good shawty."

"Ask him about me." Chris nudged my shoulder.

I cleared my throat. "So, were you and him good friends or something?"

"Yeah, he was ma' friend."

"was." Chris whispered.

"What happened?"

"I-I really d-don't wanna talk a-about it." He stuttered.

Chris was angered and flew into the kitchen, of course I didn't follow- even though I wanted to.

"Well wh-" I was cut off by the sound of glass breaking in the kitchen.

Chris, I thought to myself.

"What was dat?"

I sat up on the couch. "Don't worry about it, the wind probably knocked a cup down or something, I'll go check." I hurried into the kitchen and saw Chris hovering over the sink.

"Can you not!" I whisper-yelled.

"What are you gonna do about it?" He smirked.

I glared at him as I cleaned up the broken glass off of the floor. "You can't be scaring my guests off nigga."

Just when Chris was about to respond, August walked into the kitchen and he disappeared. "Everything good?"

"Yeah," I half smiled. "Told you it was the wind." I pointed to the sliding back doors which were open.

For the next half hour that August was here, we just chilled. Watched movies, talk about our past- but not once did he mention what happened with him and Chris.

"I'll see you Monday!" I waved to August as I shut the front door. Chris appeared as I turned around, scaring me half to death. "Stop doing that!"

"I can't help it." He smirked.

I slumped back down on the couch watching the TV show switch to a commercial.

"Hey, can I ask you something?" I blurted out.

"You said your mom was murdered here too right?"

"Well how come I can see you but not her?"

"Cause they only found her body and gave her a proper burial."

I felt a knot in my throat and I had the urge to get up and pace- meaning I was nervous. "So... Your body is still here?" I whispered, looking around.

He replied in a nonchalant tone. "Yup."

"I'm not telling you."

"Damn shawty stop asking me so many questions."

I put my head down in shame, "I'm sorry."

It was going on 12 o'clock and Selena and Felix still weren't home. They do this date night shit every Saturday and they leave me home by myself- well, technically I'm not by myself anymore. Honestly, if I had Chris then I really didn't need anybody else. Why does he have to be dead though? I've never seen a ghost as fine as him. Matter of fact- I've never seen a ghost at all.

I woke up the next morning to a piercing scream. I rushed out of my bed and down the stairs just to see Felix standing in the living room with a towel wrapped around his waist- not to mention the burns that went down from his neck to his back. Then there was Chris, making funny faces behind him and laughing. Of course I wanted to laugh but instead I just smirked.

"You think this is funny bitch?" Felix yelled, moving closer to my face. Just when he extended his arm to hit me, Chris slapped his burn marks causing him to fall to the floor.

"What's going on!" Selena called, rushing into the living room.

I shrugged my shoulders and made my way back up to my room-Chris following of course.

I cracked open my heavy history textbook, flipping to the page I needed to study.

"What are you doing?" He questioned.

"What does it look like?"

"I mean, I know what you're doing- but why?"

"Um, so I don't fail this test?"

"Close it."

"You gon do my test for me nigga?"

"Somethin' like that." He grinned.

The next day .

I sat in history waiting for Mr. Adams to distribute the 50 question exam.

"I'm scared." I looked down at the test that was slapped on my desk.

Chris appeared next to me smiling. "What'chu scared for? Ain't nobody can see me besides you."

I smiled at the fact that he was right. I read the first question in my head and I was already stuck.

"Circle B." He said.

I whispered, "how do you know that's right?"

"I just spent 24 hours memorizing the nigga's answer key for your ass, you better listen to me."

I sighed and did as he said. This went on for the next 40 minutes that we had left for the exam. At the end, I handed in my test with confidence.

"Man do I owe you." I said as I walked out of the classroom.
