Chapter 82

2.3K 58 3

Last week when I got out the hospital, I wasn't allowed to do anything for myself. Blake & my mom insisted on doing everything for me. Hell, I wasn't even allowed to leave the damn house, but it was nice to know they were here to help.

So now Blake is sick, but he's in denial. He actually think he's perfectly fine. Since he took care of me last week, I took today off so I could take care of him. And on top of all that, Ford is coming, so I get to take care of two babies.

I was lying in bed with Blake to keep him company, even though he insisted I shouldn't. He says he doesn't want me to get sick, but I'm sure I'll be fine.

"Do you want something to eat?" I asked.

"No," he said groggily.

"What did you eat today?" I asked, looking him in the face.

"Exactly. You gotta eat something. You want some soup?"

"Sure," he said in a raspy, groggy voice.

"My poor baby. Don't worry, I'm gonna go to the store and I'm gonna come back and make your soup so you can rest."

I kissed his temple and headed downstairs. As soon as I reached the last step, the doorbell rang. I knew it was Brynn, so I ran to open it.

"Hey. How are you? Are you still in any pain?" Brynn asked.

"Not really. I'm trying to take it easy, but I'm good."

"That's good to hear. Where's Blake?"

"Upstairs. He's not feeling so good," I said.

"Are you gonna be able to handle Blake & Ford? I mean, you are still recovering," she said.

"Oh yeah. I'll be fine," I said.

"Okay." She handed Ford to me and set his bag down before leaving.

"Hi Bweedy!"

"Hey Fordy! You wanna go to the store with me?" I asked.

"Alright, let's go."

I picked him up off the counter and we left.

I decided I was gonna make Blake some homemade chicken noodle soup because I'm not too fond of soup in a can. After I got what I needed for the soup, I went to get drinks.

I looked at Ford and he was pointing at the apple juice.

"Is that what you want?" I asked.

"Okay," I laughed. I got the apple juice and some ginger ale and put it in the cart.

I got everything I needed and we went to check out.

"Hi," the cashier smiled, "aw your son is so cute!"

"Oh, he's not my son," I said.

Does she really think this blonde haired child is mine?

"Boyfriend's son."

"Oh. Well you're adorable," she said to Ford.

"Tank you," he said shyly, making her smile."

We left the store and went straight back home. When we got in, I sat Ford down on the counter and began making this soup.
