My parents had always told me not to answer or even open texts from unknown numbers. I've always obeyed. But this time when I got one, I was way too curious to not open it.
And that all happened in my Chemistry class. Mr Nicholas was pacing here and there gesturing with his hands and trying to tell us about the speed of a reaction.
Believe me, I was doing my best to concentrate on what he was saying. Hanna was making notes beside me. Something was wrong around here. I just couldn't pay attention. One way or another, my mind would wander off to something else. Like why the kid in front of me was tapping his foot. Or why Mr Nicholas's hair was standing up on the edge.
That's when I felt my phone vibrate.
I knew how we were forbidden to use mobile phones during lectures. Especially Chemistry lectures. But I was too curious. I slowly took out my phone and unlocked the screen.
There it was, an unknown number.
Mr Nicholas wasn't looking at me and neither was anyone else. I opened the message in a quick second and read the message.
If I asked you to meet me somewhere, would you say yes?
I typed a reply. I was so crazy.
Me: Who is this?
Unknown: I just wrote the name, silly.
Him calling me silly was not welcomed.
Me: Excuse me, but you are not supposed to text me.
Unknown: I'm sorry, sweetheart.
That was it.
Me: I don't know you. So kindly fuck off.
Unknown: So about that question earlier?
Me: I don't know you.
Unknown: What if I tell you everything?
