"I'm so sorry..."
Sunny was crying, the tears rolling down her face as she sat in her room. Ignoring the knocking at her door, she was sitting there just holding onto her pillow as she sobbed.
Why? It all started this morning.
Sunny woke up perfectly, a smile on her face and her skin was gleaming. As soon as she walked out of her room in her pajamas, everything in her eyes seemed to go a dull color. She rubbed her eyes but it stayed the same. Remembering why she was sad the day before, she didn't know her day was about to change in a blink of an eye.
Her day became gloomy and dull. The voices around her were shut out as she remembered Minghao's words. She didn't want to tell Mingyu what happened, afraid it would ruin their relationship and a friendship within the group. She wanted to keep it a secret, but how was that being a good girlfriend?
"Mingyu." Sunny said, moving towards the boy and sitting next to him.
The boy turned his head towards Sunny and listened to her. Afraid of what was going to happen, Sunny knew exactly what she had to say. She didn't want it to happen, but it needed to. It would be the best for the group.
"Can you promise me that you won't get mad at me for making this decision?" Sunny asked, holding onto Mingyu's hand.
"What is it?" Mingyu asked, looking at the girls eyes who were filled with tears already.
"I think... we should to break up." Sunny said, trying to look away from Mingyu.
"W-What. Why?" Mingyu asked, confused and sitting up in his seat.
She stood up and looked at him. A slow stream of tears rolling down her warm, red cheeks. Not wanting to tell him what Minghao said, she looked for something else she could say that was true as well. She finally found a bigger reason why they couldn't stay together.
"Everything. People, work, shows, practice, being an idol. You know nothing lasts forever, even if we think it does. Being an idol isn't the best job to have when you want to have a relationship as well, there is so much work put into it." Sunny explained.
"I know you can tell me about Minghao." Mingyu said, sitting her back down.
Sunny burst, tears falling faster than ever and she leaned against Mingyu as she let it all out. He held her close and just listened to her speak, wanting to hear everything.
"I'm sorry. I should have told you about what happened. I've just been thinking about it all lately and it's just made me not want to be in a relationship. Not because of you, I love you so much, but it made me realize that I don't even know what I really want." Sunny explained, sniffling as she went on.
"It's okay Sunny. I didn't expect this all to happen this fast but I will stay here for you through anything. I'm your best friend, if you ever get into a relationship with someone else, I'll support you." Mingyu said, holding the girl.
After a while of the crying stopping and starting back up, Sunny finally calmed down. Mingyu was still by her side making sure she was alright. She turned to Mingyu and was hesitant to speak at first.
"This won't effect our work right?" Sunny asked.
"It won't. Nothing changes. We might not be in a relationship, but I will always care for you the same way as I always have." Mingyu said.
Sunny hugged Mingyu and said thank you. She didn't quite understand where she wanted to go in the future or what she wanted, but she knew that her focus should be on her group, herself, and her work.
She walked back to her room after sitting with Mingyu for a little bit. Locking her door, she threw herself onto her bed. Holding the pillow tightly as she kicked around her bed. Sunny started crying again as she replayed the moment in her head.
