"Oh, I didn't know you'd be here." Blake said with a smirk that said otherwise.
My hands felt sweaty all of a sudden. He was dressed in simple jeans and a light blue shirt. It kind of made his eyes seem bright. His eyes were the shade of sea. Greenish blue, unlike Caden's green ones.
They did not look like brothers in appearance. Maybe he's Caden's stepbrother.
I didn't know what kind of enmity could be between two brothers.
"You're Skylar, right?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said.
What's the point in lying anyways?
"You're here for the file." I didn't care making it sound like a question. I wanted to let him know that he was only here for the file.
"I'll get the file in a second. You can come inside if you want." I said.
I wished he wouldn't want that. Anything but that. He looked at me as his mouth twitched.
"Sure." He said after a while.
I prevented myself from cursing out loud. As Blake got inside, I closed the door making sure to leave it opened ajar. Blake followed me into the living room with what I supposed was a polite smile.
I couldn't ever think of this person as polite. Like, who the hell is polite when they are holding real guns the other second?
"Stay here and I'll bring it, okay?" I said.
He just nodded.
I went upstairs in a rush hoping he wouldn't follow me. I reached the entrance of dad's office and opened the door. Instead of looking for the file, I took out my phone sending a quick message to Caden.
Blake is here.
I didn't have time to tell him everything. I hoped he'll get the overview by just those three words. Next, I started looking for the black file. I wished my mother had been more specific about which black file. There were loads of them here.
I took the one which was on the top and reached the door to get out.
Calm down, girl.
Taking a deep breath and calming down my nerves, I got out, closing the lights. Just as I turned away from the door, I found myself face to face with him. Blake.
