I awoke the next morning in Michael's arms. Normally if he felt me even make the slightest movement, he'd pull me closer. Not allowing me to leave because he just wanted to hold me forever. I love that. But this morning was different. He was so deeply asleep that even a whisper of his name couldn't budge him out of his sleep. I saw this as my opportunity to go make breakfast for him and everyone else if they were still asleep. It was the least I could do after the warm welcome most of them gave me. I slowly and carefully slipped away from his ever so light grip. He was so cute. He let out quiet little snores that made him all the more adorable. I couldn't help but smile to myself. Once I got completely loose, I stood up and grabbed my half dead phone. 3 texts from Triniti. I'm surprised there aren't more but then again she wasn't rude.
7:00 PM "Hey girl. How are things going?"
9:00 pm "Oop, you must be busy having fun! I hope your absence means it's going well!"
11:00 PM "Tell me all about it tomorrow? Goodnight girly."
I giggled to myself.
7:29 AM "Hey, Trin. Everything went great. His mother surpised us with his siblings. They are just so nice. Well except for two of them. I'm coming home today though, I should be back by this afternoon. You should come over so I can tell you all about it!" I replied.
Once I answered her texts, I made my way downstairs in last nights clothes. I stopped in the bathroom along the way to quickly freshen up and then I went to the kitchen. No body was up which meant I could cook for everyone. Including Jermaine and Latoya. Maybe they'd give me a second chance once they tasted my stuffed french toast? I began cooking before I heard a few light and subtle foot steps approaching behind me. I turned around to see Janet. "Goodmorning girl! What are you doing?" She said. "I was up early so I figured I would make everyone something to eat." I replied. "Oooh what are you making?" She asked. "Stuffed french toast." I replied. "That sounds delicious. Can I help?" She asked. I nodded my head and allowed her to help me. With her help it got done faster and by the time we finished everyone was making their way to the kitchen. "What is that glorious smell?" Katherine asked as she closed her eyes and took in the scent of the french toast. I smiled feeling accomplished with my cooking. "I made you all breakfast! I hope you don't mind!" I said. They all smiled and thanked me as they took their seats. I gave them each a plate with contained 2 pieces of french toast. I put the syrup, powdered sugar, and cinnamon on the table as well. Jermaine and Latoya seemed better today but I still felt like something was off. However, I was going to enjoy their good moods while it lasted. Michael came to my side to assist me in handing out the plates. Once everyone got one, we all sat down and prayed. "Can I lead prayer this morning?" I asked. I wanted to do everything to get and stay on Katherines good side. "Why, of course dear." Katherine said, sounding impressed and pleased. I smiled and we all joined hands as I led them into morning prayer. Once we finished, we all dug into this delicious meal.
Once everyone finished their meal, Michael started cleaning up. Randy stood up to help him. They were all so sweet and caring. "That was absolutely delicious, Olivia." Katherine said. "You can call me Liv, Katherine. And thank you so much. It was delightful cooking for you all. I'm an only child and I've never experienced such a big family before. I really enjoyed this little trip so thank you for making me feel so welcome." I replied and announced to everyone. They all knew that Michael and I were going to hit the road shortly after breakfast so some of them were quite sad to see me go while all of them were really sad to see Michael go. It was very sweet. "Before you go, can I do your hair? It's so beautiful." Janet asked. I smiled, "of course!" I said. Then Janet stood up and led me to the room where her stuff was located. She had combs, brushes and hair product. I was excited to see what she was going to do. "Is there anything specific that you want done?" She asked. "Nope, surprise me." I said. She smiled and began to brush my hair. Knowing that Michael and I had to get on the road, Janet decided to go with something more quick and simple; a french braid. "Thank you again for showing me so much love and such a warm welcome when I got here. I didn't feel that same energy with everyone. You've been so sweet to me and we've only just met." I told her. "Michael talks about you all the time. You're a great woman for him. I can't wait for the baby to be born though!" She replied. "I can't wait either!" I said. "What are you hoping for?" She asked. "A girl. I want a little twin" I said with a laugh. "That is so cute! I'm sure Michael wants a little twin as well." She said. "I think so too. Especially because if it's a boy, he will be named after him." I answered. We both laughed. She finished up my hair and sprayed it with some hairspray to keep it's hold. "Go look!" She said as she showed me to a mirror. "It's beautiful. I love it!" I praised the hairstyle. She smiled. "You know, I'd love to keep in touch with you if it wouldn't be a bother." She asked. "Never a bother. Here's my number." I said as I handed her a ripped off piece of paper containing my number. We shared a smile as she took it and put it in her phone. "Thank you, Liv!" She said. "You're welcome, Janet!" I replied. "I should really go and fix up the guest room and go get ready though. Thank you again for everything." I said. "Of course! I'm going to stay back here and clean up. Have a safe trip back, Liv! It was lovely finally meeting you!" She said. We smiled and then departed. I closed her door behind me and made my way back down to Michael. As I was walking I heard the voices of Jermaine and Latoya.
"You know I hope they don't last" said Jermaine. "Oh, please. Michael hasn't even had a real girlfriend, these two aren't going to last. Even if she is pregnant with his child." Latoya agreed. "His? I bet it's someone elses. She put on too much of an act last night and today. She seems fake." Jermaine said. Their words hurt. I would never do that to Michael. Or anyone. That's not who I am. I was tempted to walk in and say something but instead I just kept walking by. As I walked away, I heard them laughing. I knew they were talking about me and it hurt. I finally met back up with Michael who immediately saw it all over my face. "Hun? Come with me to grab our jackets?" He said. I followed him into Katherines room where she hung them in her closet. "What's wrong? Did something happen with Janet?" He immediately asked as soon as he shut the door. "No, I don't want to start any drama." I said. "Listen, I just want to know what upset you." He said. "Okay, well, uh, Latoya and Jermaine were saying some pretty harsh things." I admitted. He sighed as if he already knew something. "What?" I asked. "What did they say?" He asked looking me directly in my eyes. "That- uh- that we aren't going to last. That this baby probably isn't yours. It was hurtful, Michael." I said as I began to cry. He wiped away my tears, "I'll take care of it Liv. Put your jacket on and wait in the living room." He said. I listened to him although I was nervous about what was going to happen next. I sat in the living room and impatiently waited as Michael made his way up the stairs.
I was so angry. I didn't know what I was going to say. I didn't know what I was going to do. But I knew that no one was going to come between Olivia and I. Especially not when it hurts her so. I clenched my fist and approached their door. I took a deep breath and walked in, closing the door behind me. "What the hell is the problem with you two?" I asked. They looked surprised. "Woah Michael calm down man. What's going on?" Jermaine said. "Don't even try to play dumb. Why was Olivia just crying in my arms because of the hurtful things you two said about her? She has been nothing but nice to you." I defended her. "Michael, we were being honest." Latoya said. "No you were being rude." I spat. "Michael, you never had a real girlfriend. You can't expect her to stick around. I mean, she is still young, theres a possibility that the baby isn't yours." Latoya said. "Olivia loves me and I love her. She is my first real girlfriend and theres a reason I brought her home. I know she is the one because she has proved it to me time and time again, not that she even had to. If you two can't respect that, then don't bother coming around her, my child or myself." I said as I looked at both of them silently sitting there in shock. I turned away and walked out of the room. I made my way back downstairs and grabbed Olivia by her hand. "We've got to go. But thank you everyone for being so kind and welcoming to Olivia. It was nice seeing you all. I love you." I said as I breifly hugged them all. "Mother, I'll call you later tonight." I added. "It was nice meeting you all! Thank you for everything. I hope we can do it again soon" Olivia said. We both made our way out of the door and into the car. Within seconds, we were on the road.
I had one hand on the steering wheel and another on Liv's lap. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that, Liv. I'd never purposely put you in that situation." I began apologizing. "I know you wouldn't. Don't worry. Other than that I had a great time. I love your mom and Janet!" She said. I was so pleased to hear those words. "Well I'm glad you did, baby. That's the most important thing to me." We smiled as a comfortable silence filled the car. "I love you, Olivia." I said. "I love you too, Michael." She replied causing my heart to flutter. As long as she is alright, then so was I.
