if i lay here,
if i just lay here,
would you lie with me
and just forget the world

Something I realised when I was around Liam was that everything felt easy.

Conversation flowed and light touches didn't feel forced or awkward. There was just this energy between us and it lit me up from the inside.

We were walking side by side down the streets of Tokyo, with the occasional cherry blossom fluttering down. Some would even call this - dare I say it - romantic.

But they would be wrong, because Liam was getting on my damn nerves and nothing about our conversation was romantic.

"You are not staying in my hotel room!" I reiterated for the hundredth time.

"C'mon, you're not going to leave me stranded on the streets, are you? The hotel said they're fully booked."

"There's more than one hotel in Japan, Liam. Pick any one. Actually, wait, I'm pretty sure if you told the front desk you're Liam Greyson, they'll pull out a room for you out of their butthole."

"How miraculous," Liam said dryly. "Seriously, Brooklyn, one night."

"I'm serious. Why don't you just go up to them and be pull the 'Do you know who I am?' move on them?"

"Okay, just because the paps here are less intense than the ones back in LA doesn't mean there are no paps. I'd like to enjoy some peace and quiet for a while."

"Oh, you forgot a line."

"What?"

"The 'I just want to have a normal life' line."

Liam shoved me and turned the other direction, clearly sulking. "I was being serious."

"Aw," I cooed intentionally. "Don't be upset."

"I'm not upset."

I was about to tease him some more when my phone rang. The moment I saw that the number was from the LA office, my good mood suddenly disappeared and I felt my smile drain from my face. "Hello?"

"Miss Hart, your father came by today," the other person on the line said.

"What?"
