when julian was six years old , known as juliet at that time , his parents both died in a car crash . it was an emotional time for he and his older brother , michael , who was thirteen at the time . the two managed to leave and not get sent to an orphanage or a foster home , and michael got a job . now , the job was selling drugs , but julian didn't know that . a few years passed and now julian was ten . he and his brother lived in a small apartment now , having enough money for that , and managed to get by . though , michael hung out with a lot of bad people and julian spent a lot of his time hiding in their bedroom closet . when he was found , he would be made fun of by the boys and occasionally assaulted physically and sexually . that's went on for four years . when julian turned fourteen , he came out as trans to michael , hoping he would understand . but he didn't , and that's when the beatings got worse . michael and his friends would beat him up and call him a faggot and a freak . that went on until he was fifteen . that's when he packed all his things and ran away . he had no money and nowhere to go , but he managed to find a job as a dishwasher at a restaurant and managed to make enough money to rent out a very small apartment in the bad part of town . soon enough , though , he went to a doctor and started getting testosterone . those first few months of T were hard on him with work and the side affects , but he got through it . he always thought positive through everything , and managed to save enough of his money over the four years he worked at that restaurant to afford top surgery to get rid of his breasts . he was ecstatic when it worked out and finally started to feel better about himself . he also had enough money left over to get a slightly better apartment . when he moved , he got a new job and when he turned twenty , he started working as a bartender . also , he started using his sore time to help at an lgbtq+ center , to help kids who are struggling , like he was . since then , his life has been great and he is happier than ever . though , every month , he still sends some money to his brother . he even sometimes goes to check on him , even though he knows the risks .
