The Keeper of the Multiverse led me to a window looking out on an endless sea of stars.
"Each point of light is a universe," They said. "A universe which must be protected."
"So if there are infinite universes, are there infinite versions of me?" I asked.
"Er, each living thing is unique," They said, awkwardly.
"So what sets a universe apart?
"Oh, differentiation in gravity, elemental composition, things like that."
"It's the music of creation. Each universe plays its own song."
"So human choices don't matter?"
"The multiverse doesn't care if you dropped out of art school, Hank."
