8 months later
Shawn is coming home today from his tour, he's got a bit of a break from dates which is nice. I've been flying out to meet him as much as I can and he's been coming here as much as possible as well. My parents were done a few months ago and Shawn was luckily able to come home to meet them and it couldn't have gone better. They loved him and won't stop talking to me about him.
I'm driving to the airport to pick Shawn up, his flight lands right away and I can't wait to see him. He appears from around the corner and starts to come down on the escalator. He spots me and smiles big and I return it. I run up to him and give him a big hug, his arms wrapping around me tightly. "Hi!" I say.
"Hi, I missed you." He says still smiling.
"I missed you too," he leans down and plants his lips on mine. "Should we go?"
"Let's do it," He grabs his bags and we head out to the car. "So I was thinking, I've made reservations tonight at Toca, for 7:00. Is that okay with you?"
"Definitely, why so fancy?"
"Just missed you, so I thought we'd do something special." He says and smiles at me.
"Well I won't complain about that," I lean over and kiss him again. I put my hand on his cheek and he puts his forward against mine.
"So how long are you here?" I ask as I start to drive home.
"Four days, I wish it was longer."
"It's okay, I'll try to come down and meet you guys for a few days at some point as well."
"Good, I would like that."
We spend the rest of the day together, just talking and catching up. We make plans to go visit with Aaliyah, Manny and Karen after supper tonight. I said they should come for dinner with us, but Shawn was pretty resilient on it being only the two of us.
I choose to wear a white long sleeve dress that hugs my body nicely. I put on some sparkly rose gold shoes to go with it and curl my hair. I finish my makeup and walk out to the bedroom and see Shawn putting on a blazer. "You look amazing," he says staring at me.
"Thank you," I smile at him and walk over and brush off his shoulder. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yep, lets do it."
We have about a twenty minute drive to the restaurant and Shawn plays some new music that they were recording in LA while we drive. "Those are amazing, I like the second one best."
"That's about you." He says which makes me smile. "Well really they're all about you in one way or another."
"That makes me feel special." I have the biggest smile on my face which becomes contagious and Shawn soon has it as well.
We have an amazing dinner together, talking the whole time. We finish our meals and the waiter comes to take our plates away and fill up our champagne. We talk a little more and Shawn gets the bill then says he has something to show me.
We get in the car and he won't tell me where we're going. We pull up to the CN Tower and he opens the door for me. "Why are we here?"
"Be patient, you'll see." He takes me up to the very top, and it's decorated beautifully. There are candles and lights draped all over the rooftop and huge bouquets of roses.
"What is this?" Josiah is standing in the corner with his camera. Why is he here?
"Come here," he pulls me close to him and takes my hands in his. "So, do you remember that night we went to Petty Cash, and I was drunk, and I don't really remember anything from that night. But I remember we were dancing and I told you something, I said that you're the love of my life and that I'm going to marry you one day. Do you remember that?" I nod my head yes. "Well I meant that. And I love you, so so much. And I want you to know that you are the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me." I can feel my eyes start to water and I don't hold back the tears. "The first time I ever saw you, I knew you were going to be the one, even if you didn't know it yet. And I know that we've been through lots, and that it's not always easy with me being away and you in school. But I do know that I am the luckiest guy in the world, because I have the kindest, funniest, most beautiful girl in the world." The tears are coming down faster now, tears of complete joy. "However, there's only one thing that would make me even happier. Do you know what it is?" I shake my head no, holding his hands tightly.
Shawn gets down on one knee which makes me cry even harder. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a ring box. I cover my face with my hands not believing that this is actually happening. "I'd be the happiest man alive if you would do me the honour, of marrying me."
"Yes, yes!" He stands up and I kiss him. He pulls away from me and slips the diamond ring onto my hand. "I love you so much." He kisses me again and pulls me in for a hug.
People start to clap and cheer behind us and I turn around to see Aaliyah, Karen, Manny and a whole bunch of our friends. Aaliyah and Shawn's parents run towards us and we all hug for a long time. When we separate I find Aaliyah again and hug her again. Then Sara comes up behind me and I hug her and cry, not believing that everybody was able to be here for this.
We have drinks with everybody and celebrate until two in the morning. Eventually is just me and Shawn standing alone on the rooftop. A slow song comes on the speaker and Shawn pulls me into him and we start to slow dance. He puts his hands on my back and I put my arms around his neck.
"Do you want to know something?" I ask him.
"This is officially the best day of my life. But I have a feeling there's going to be many days like this one coming."
"I think you're very right about that," he says and kisses me.
I think I might end the story here! Comment and vote on what you think and if I should continue the story and cover their wedding and everything. Let me know! xx
