This is the second (and last part) of my story called The Argument. If you're unfamiliar with the story, I suggest skimming over it again.
"Have you ever had unrequited feelings for someone?"
"Actually Legolas... I have."
You drew out a shaky breath. Here goes nothing.
"Legolas, I had feeling feelings for you. Oh, who am I kidding? I still probably do," you frowned and looked down at your feet, "As a matter of fact, I've liked you for some time now. I've just been too afraid to tell you because of Tauriel." Your already quiet voice faded away as you spoke the last few words. There was a very awkward, long pause. Legolas was about to say something, but you couldn't contain yourself anymore. "-Listen, Legolas, I'm sorry. I know that you definitely don't feel I'm sorry that I didn't tell you earlier, I just-"
Legolas took both of your gentle hands in his strong, firm ones, "Never in my life have I been so blind..." he murmured, gazing longingly into your eyes. You bit your lip as he squeezed your hands. "I was so wrong, Y/N. I'm so sorry. Some time ago, I desired to have a deeper relationship with you, but I didn't believe that you felt the same because of our close friendship. Therefore, I turned to Tauriel... but it was all in vain."
Although your heart was soaring, your thoughts raced anxiously. You tried your best to keep a straight face so Legolas couldn't sense your emotions.
"So, what does this mean then? What's your final decision?" You gave him a stern and calculating look. I've poured my heart out enough. Let's see how much he really cares.
Legolas' dark eyebrows nervously knitted together. You could've sworn that you saw a couple of beads of sweat on he side of his face. Before he started speaking, he gave an almost unnoticeable nod in understanding. Good. He understands that he'll have to do a bit more talking.
"Well, Y/N, I do still have to leave..."
"Is it because of your dad? Because you're sick of the responsibility of being Prince? Because of Tauriel?" You voluntarily let all of your deadly spite slip out into the name "Tauriel." Legolas was taken aback. If you had said this in public, you could've gotten banished or arrested.
Legolas sucked in a breath before defending himself, "I'm leaving because of Tauriel." You felt like Legolas' words somehow balled up a fist and punched you in the gut.
Your eyes started to water, "I... understand. It was nice knowing you, Legolas. I wish you luck-"
All of the sudden, Legolas stepped closer to you. His eyes bored into yours. Emotion glimmered like a bright star in his pupils as he gazed at you.
"Y/N, you didn't let me finish," Legolas' warm breath caressed your bare, soft cheek, "I'm decided to leave for Tauriel because I'm leaving my mistakes behind, but I'm taking something very important with me... You." Legolas gave a sheepish smile.
"Legolas-I don't know what to say..."
Legolas nodded as his smile fell, "Of course, only if you would like to come as well," he paused and then continued to look in your eyes as a red blush dusted his cheek, "My true desire is to see you happy."
Those were the exact words that you desired to hear.
You couldn't hold it any longer. A grin broke free on your face and shone as brilliantly and as bright as the sun. You even let out a light giggle.
"Of course I will, Prince Charming."
Legolas chuckled with joy, and, without realizing it, started to lean in towards you. He stopped only when you raised your eyebrows.
"Oh, uh, I'm sorry. Can I...?"
You quickly gave him a huge peck on the cheek. You tilted your head back and started to run off.
"Catch me first!"
