Chapter Fourteen - Fresh Out The Shower

Kayla's P.O.V.

I was just laying in bed completely aloof and pensive.

Evan, as I learned his name was, kept floating across my mind. His alluring eyes, his well-built body, his goofy smile, his scruffy and adorable hair. I wanted to push him out of my mind, I mean isn't this some form of unhealthy? I barely know him... but I feel like he's someone I'm meant to know.

But that wasn't the only thing, or person, that crossed my mind.

I thought back to the girl that was waiting for him when I was in the nurses' office. She was pretty, no beautiful.

Could they be siblings?

No, they looked completely different.

I just can't forget his face when he saw her. He looked so happy to see her. There was a glint in his eyes and...

No, I'm rambling.

There was no glint, they're just really close.

Right?

Ava's P.O.V.

I had secretly gone to school early without waking up Evan. I made sure to put 100 hundred alarms on his phone though, to ensure I wouldn't be the reason why he's late.

And of course, it's of my award-winning signing.

I thought about what I saw yesterday. That girl looked like she was totally in love with him, how big her smile was when he hugged and said whatever he said to her.

But I was tripping, right? There wasn't any possible way. She was new and has only been here for a day. That's certainly not enough time to fall in love with someone.

...

Right?

My head was spinning with questions, and I didn't want to face Evan. I didn't want him to get upset or call me 'crazy' and 'jealous' so I went to talk to one of the sweetest, most trustworthy girls I know. Meghan.

"Hey hun, what's with the face?" She frowned.

"Um, I... I want your opinion on something..." I said in a low voice.

"What?" She cocked her head and directed me away from the hall filled with students.

She frowned. "Is there anything wrong?"

"No, at least I don't think so..." I took a deep breath.

"I need to know about a girl... pertaining to Evan..." She gasped. Though we were keeping things private and hanging out separately at school, I couldn't keep this away from my best friend and he knew that.

"What did his stupid ass do now?!" She huffed, cracking her knuckles.

I stammered at her anger. "No, no... It's not that serious..." I took another deep breath.

"It's about the new girl." I finally said.

"Kayla?" She said, surprised.

"You know her?" I asked.

"Kinda. I just assured her that all the gossiping was just apart of being new here. I did offer my friendship..." She stopped in the middle of her own sentence.

"WAIT! Did she make a move on Evan?! I swear I'll-"

"No, calm down Meghan. She just... seems to like him. And we can't exactly beat her up for it, because no one knows about our relationship..." I stated. "Except you of course."
