Island Hopping

After your lift off from Panna, Qrow was now leading a fleet of over 13 different ships towards an large archipelago just north of Mistral. The fleet had spilt into four different groups, Alpha, Bravo, Delta and Echo all lead by either Qrow or the Panna's police chief, Chief Stripes. The core of you and your fellow students stayed closed together in Alpha as you all began the strategy of Island Hopping. Alpha attacked one island while the rest of the fleet attacked three other islands and moved on to the next island.

After at least a day of capturing more than 20 islands in the system, you grew bored and tired as did the others. Alpha had landed on a recently captured island that Qrow dubbed, The Nest. While one ship was flying around the island on patrol, the other ships were along the beach. Some people were outside with bonfires eating dinner or just playing around. You were sitting inside your small cabin within the ship, lying on your bed with the rest of your team hanging out with you. Gure and Burly were playing cards and Silver was reading.

(Y/N): So...anyone else want to tell me why are we taking forever to get this guy?

Silver: It's better to have an entire area under our complete control. That way, incase this "Doctor" as any additional facilities, they can be captured and destroyed. Personally, I'm more concern of whom he is working for.

(Y/N): Salem. Apparently, that's the key reason why Ozpin gave himself up. Well, we should just be ready for anything.

The door to the room opened and Ren was standing there.

Ren: We have a mission. Briefing in about 5.

(Y/N): Got it. Thanks, Ren.

Ren nodded and walked away from the door. You got up off your bed and did some stretching before walking to the door. Silver closed up his book and joined you. Burly slammed a Jack onto the ground and Gure groaned at seeing his 10. Burly just laughed as Gure leaned back and yelled to himself. In about 5 minutes, (T/N), RWBY, JNR, Flynn and Qrow were inside the bridge of the ship.

Qrow: Alright. All 14 of us are moving onto a massive island just north of here.

Yang: Yeah. What's the difference between this and the other islands.

Qrow: I set up the others to capture more land against Salem. There's no way in hell any of them will survive the actual island base. This on, this is an outpost. We take this and get a clear shot at the doctor.

Flynn: So, plan here.

Qrow: Flynn and (Y/N) are leading the team for a quick arial landing. You guys secure a landing area and the rest of us move it. We take the post and then get ready for the actual isle invasion.

You all nodded in acceptance and the ship took off. While on the flight, Gure and Blake had introduced the team and Flynn to "Stealth armor" used by previous White Fang troops. The suit was black in both armor, padding and under garments. You were nearly 100% invisible in the dark. The ship rapidly approached the island and you all got into position. You were in your room outfitting and getting your sword ready when the door opened and Ruby walked in.

(Y/N): Hey!

Ruby: Hey.

You quickly looked away from your blade and back to Ruby.

(Y/N): Oh no.

Ruby: Oh no? What do you mean "Oh no"?

(Y/N): I know that voice and look.

Ruby: What voice and look?

(Y/N): That's your "Overly concerned" look.

Ruby: Wha?! No it isn't!

You cocked your eyebrow and looked directly at Ruby. She glanced at you and then around the room. She stomped her foot and began to pout. You laughed and walked up to her and embraced Ruby. She leaned into the hug as you moved your hand along her back.

(Y/N): So. What's wrong?

Ruby: I'm...I'm worried. Worried about you. This mission. What if you're hurt?! What if we fail?! What-What if-

(Y/N): Hey, hey, hey. Nothing bad it going to happen here. If I were you, I'd be more concerned over the lab. (Ruby looks away dejected) Hey. We'll be just fine. Don't worry about it. Seriously!

Ruby: I know. But-

(Y/N): Rosebud. It's fine. Trust me. Ok?

Ruby takes a deep breath and looks directly at you, locking eyes.

Ruby: Look at me dead in the eyes and say it.

(Y/N): (Sighs) Ruby.

Ruby: I'm not losing you like how I lost Penny! So do it!

(Y/N): Ok. Ruby, I promise you. Nothing bad will ever happen on this mission. To me or my team. And if something does, I got you to slap all the sense you want into me.

You and Ruby share a quick laugh. You both looked at one another again and leaned in and kissed one another. After the kiss, you grabbed her hand and walked out of the room.

(Y/N): Don't worry. Ok?

Ruby: Ok.

The two of you headed back to the main area of the ship with the others. Weiss and Blake were piloting the ship, or at least Weiss was and she was teaching Blake how to fly it. Burly walked over to the wall and absorbed the metal, turning his skin into such material. Gure drew his sword and cracked his neck. Silver also drew his weapon and loaded two rockets into its chamber. You also readied your weapon as your brother opened the central door, allowing for a vertical exit/entrance.

(Y/N): So boys, ready for this?

Burly smirked and cracked his knuckles. Silver and Gure both nodded as Flynn walked over to your group. He too drew his blade and nodded.

Qrow: Alright. Get ready everyone!

You glanced back to Ruby and winked.

(Y/N): Wish me luck.

Burly: Alright. Good luck on the fall!

Burly slapped your back and you fell through the hole.

(Y/N): BBURRRLLYYY!!!

Burly just chuckled to himself and jumped down after you. Meanwhile, both Silver and Gure just looked one. One in a deadpanned look while the other was a smile respectively.

Silver: I hate those two sometimes.

Gure: Yeah. But you gotta love that dynamic. (Turns around; To Blake) Later Babe.

Gure jumped through the hole down to the island. Silver just rolled his eyes and placed his axe on his shoulder and walked up to the hole. He glanced back to Weiss who looked back return.

Silver: Just...don't die.

Weiss: Same to you.

Silver nodded and jumped through the hole.

Blake: That seems like a...loving relationship.

Weiss: It is!

Ruby: Yeah! Especially since (Y/N) and I found-

Flynn: Ok! I'm just gonna head on down now. Met you guys in 5!

With that, Flynn jumped out of the ship to join you all on the ground.
