Two weeks later, Cadell arranged a meeting.

He was in a similar Dome room to the previous one but the door was intact. With the 24 hour duration of the medication's effects fully recognised, Cadell was finally free from the straight jacket. There wasn't much relief, however. This was most likely because his casted left arm had swollen to ungodly levels.

Ever since Cadell began his recovery from an urgent operation, he refused to talk about his ordeal outside of the Dome. None of it mattered anymore. He was too busy planning, designing and practising. There was no time for conversations and there was no time for answering questions until one morning he randomly requested to meet Elijah and Mr Shin.

In his new favourite corner, he flicked through news channels with a remote. BBC, Channel 4, ITV. All the headlines were the same.

BREAKING NEWS: SERIAL KILLER, CADELL WALKER, STILL NOT FOUND

"It's been three weeks since the brutal killing of Mr and Mr's walker but surprisingly the murderer is still at-"

"I think we can all agree this man is evil to the very core. A life sentence at the very-"

"Can we be sure he's even still in the country?"

Cadell switched off the television.

He hobbled to his desk and hastily took out a fountain pen from a pocket of his hoodie. The nightmare journal had become useful after all. It was now a daily breeding ground for his new-found obsession.

A numbing pain shot up his casted arm as the pen scratched onto paper. Sentences leapt onto each page, the words swirling around the boy's mind in an endless cycle.

I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will cleanse this city. I will

The repetition seemed pointless but to Cadell it was necessary. It was a symbol of determination and commitment. This sentence was his life now. On the 50th page, when his hand began cramping, there was a knock on the door. He almost snapped his pen in anticipation.
