As the darkness of the night
Presses on and leaves no light,
I know the time is drawing near,
The sight of 'goodbye' has become clear.
Sleep, my angel, and let night be day,
Until the end of time, I will stay,
Long after you say goodbye,
I will still sing your lullaby.
It's just another day, another rhyme,
We all fall down from time to time,
But I'll be here to help you stand,
I'll always be there to offer you a hand.
No one's gonna blow you're candle out,
There's nothing for you to worry about,
Just close your eyes, my angel,
After tonight, life won't be so painful.
Just let me take away the pain,
It's time you stopped playing this game,
Your heart can't take much more,
So please just walk through the door.
Sleep, sweet angel, and let it be day,
By morning you will feel no pain,
Just trust me and know I love you,
And promise you'll remember me in all you do.
