No this can't be...how is he– why is he?

"I'm assuming you've met Felix or Chan already? If you're wondering then no, I'm not a ghoul."

But how does he know about them?

"Ask me anything, I will answer."

I didn't move from my position but I finally pulled off a straight face. "How are you aware of them?"

"They told me about it of course."

"Why did they let you live?"

This is confusing me so much. I have lots of questions for him but my mind is starting to go blank.

"They aren't really bad ghouls?" Changbin said in a joking manner but I'm not down for jokes at the moment.

"Seriously? They do not seem like the type of ghouls to let people go easily!"

"All right Jin-ah–" He started but I immediately cut him off.

"What did you just call me?" My eyebrows furrowed. I am not very happy with the nickname.

He merely rolled his eyes and continued. "I'm Felix's cousin– the non-ghoul's side."

"That's all?" I raised both my eyebrows, showing off that I'm skeptical about him.

"Yes that's all. Are you in a k-drama or something that you're expecting some more deep, dramatic background shit?"

I immediately got embarrassed and just looked down. If he knows about the two, does he know about me as well?

As if he read my mind, he spoke: "How does it feel, living like a monster?"

I smirked to myself as I thought of a smart comeback. "I have to be a ghoul to be called a monster but you, that's not necessarily a requirement."

He gritted his teeth and was about to charge on me. "You–"

"Remember that I'm stronger than you! Make one wrong move then you're dead."

"As if you can kill me." It was his turn to smirk now.

"Don't test me."

"Ya ya! What's happening– oh. Who are you?" Woojin suddenly appeared by my side and stared at Changbin sternly.

"Jinwoo's friend."

"Doesn't seem like it."

"You shouldn't have asked."

"You should have answered properly."

This is too much to witness. I'm already exhausted from training and now seeing Changbin exhausted me even more if that's even possible. What is he even doing here and how is he here?

"What do you want from me?" I asked him, cutting off the two's strange conversation.

"I just wanted to see you. I'll be watching you," he said and winked which creeped me out a bunch. He sounded like an obsessed stalker.

"What are you talking about? Please be more precise," Woojin said in an annoyed tone. He looks the most tired these days. He's been studying a lot and because of that, he barely gets enough sleep.

"I have to make sure she's preparing for what's yet to come," Changbin said and flashed us another wink before turning his back on us then he walked away. I didn't bother to call after him anymore since I doubt that this will be our last meeting and I have no more energy left.

"We should go home. You've trained hard enough."

"It would be uncomfortable to train some more here anyway," I mumbled slightly. Woojin pulled me by my wrist gently, leading me back to his house.

I don't know if it's due to me being paranoid or my intuition is right. I feel like someone's watching us, me. Changbin could be anywhere but what harm would he bring?

He's powerless, isn't he?

"Are you feeling well?" Woojin asked me which I responded to with a mere nod. "You know, you've changed a lot. You're less cold to me now."

"What does that mean?" I asked him even though I know he's referring to how I acted towards him when I was still afraid of showing my real emotions and feelings.

"You're warm now. Before, I felt afraid to approach you since you might shut me off again but now you're more welcoming."

"What are you trying to say?"

"Nothing much. Just... stay that way."

I mentally scoffed to myself. If only he knew how burdened I'm feeling inside. If only he knew I'm faking love with someone who has my true love locked inside of him. I'm surprised that I was able to last 3 months.

"Can you please let go of her wrist?"

I looked up from the ground to see Hyunjin's ghoul standing with a very annoyed expression plastered on his face. Even his ghoul gets jealous, funny.

Woojin immediately let go of my wrist and stared blankly at the ghoul who seemed to be killing the older with his eyes.

"You know I'm a ghoul now and I could hear you flirting with my girlfriend from afar."

It didn't sound nice to hear the word "girlfriend" from him since he is not actually Hyunjin. It just feels so weird that I don't think I'll ever get used to this. I should've signed to an acting agency when I still had the chance.

"That wasn't called flirting."

"There's nothing else to describe what you just did."

"Ever since you became a ghoul, you're more of a bastard. It's been said that your personality heightens when you turn so maybe this is the real Hyunjin," Woojin spat with daggers which made my blood boil.

"You two just stop! Neither of you knows the other so neither of you has the right to speak like that. And you!" I pointed at the ghoul. "He is your hyung! Show some respect would you?"

The ghoul's face fell as if he was sorry. He walked past us and into the forest we just got out of. I really don't like his presence... I miss my Hyunjin so much. My heart aches every single day and it hurts me even more to see someone who looks and sounds exactly the same as him. It's like he died but left a reminder that he's alive though he'll never come back.

"Come on, Seungmin's probably done cooking dinner."

Just as we passed the tree where I fell, I remembered something.
