Kayleigh and I got back to Toronto last night pretty late. My festival tour came to an end and it will be nice to have a little break from everything, just hang out with my sister and mom and dad. And of course Kayleigh. I was thinking it might be fun to take them all to Mexico or Hawaii or somewhere nice. Kay gets along really well with them all so it'd be nice to be able to spend some time all together. I know Kayleigh is also wanting to get out to Vancouver, I haven't met her family yet and it would mean a lot to her.
Kayleigh decided to go back to her place last night, she wanted to sleep in her own bed and get some more clothes. Brian and Jon and I are meeting for lunch today so I shower and get dressed.
I head downtown to the restaurant I'm meeting the boys at, and see them all waiting for me already at a table. "Hey guys," I hug them all before sitting down and ordering a drink.
"Good to see you dude, we've missed having you around." Jon says as he sits down across from me.
"How's Kay?" Brian ask.
"Really really good."
"Thank god, I was worried about you after Amsterdam. Glad you guys could work things out."
We continue to talk and laugh as we eat making plans for tonight. "We can have people at my place," Jon says.
"Oh good, we gotta welcome Shawny boy back into town the right way." Brian says slapping my shoulder.
I laugh and we finish our meals and I head back home.
Once I get home I text Kayleigh
Hey, drinks tonight at Jons!
Sounds great, I'll meet you there?
Even though we've been together for a while I still get giddy when she sends me missy faces. I just can't believe how lucky I got.
The rest of the day goes by quickly and soon enough I am having to leave to go to Jon's.
I walk in when I get there and there is already a decent amount of people. I go and grab a drink before settling in the living room with Brian, keeping my eyes on the door so I can catch Kayleigh as soon as she gets here.
I chat with the people around me for a few minutes before I see Kayleigh walk in with Sara. She's wearing a black long sleeve shirt and a short maroon corduroy skirt, short enough that my eyes linger a little longer there. Her hair is curled and she has light makeup on, just the way I like it. She notices me staring at her and my eyes catch hers. I look her up and down once more before deciding to walk over to her.
"Hi, I'm Shawn, I don't believe we have met before but you're gorgeous."
She giggles and sweeps her hair off her shoulders exposing her collarbone. "I'm Kayleigh," she extends her hand which I take and shake lightly, moving my hand further up her arm and stepping closer towards her after doing so.
"So what's a girl like you doing her with a bunch of losers like us?"
"Oh some guy invited me, though I might check it out. But now that I'm here I can tell it's just a waste of my time." She winks and smiles.
I lean in and kiss her, "I missed you."
"We we're together yesterday," she giggles again.
"Yeah and that's too long."
"Well better get used to it considering school is starting up again this week and you're going on tour May I remind you." She rubs my back before leading me in the kitchen so she can get a drink.
"Don't remind me," he scoffs. "I still think you should just quit school and stay with me all year."
"Ha, you're funny."
"Shawn, you know I enjoy school and what if something happened to us and then what would I do. Wait tables for the rest of my life? No thank you."
"Yeah I know, it's just a nice thought."
"Don't worry, it's all gonna work itself out," I nod my head and look at her. "I'm going to go say hi to some people okay?"
She let's go of my hand and walks across the room.
"Well I'm glad everything had worked out for you two." Lauren says to me and really seems like she means it.
"Thank you, me too." I say in response.
I chat with Lauren a little longer before going to get another drink. I'm standing facing the bar when somebody taps me on the shoulder and I hear a familiar voice, "Hey stranger."
I turn around and see Andy standing there with a handsome smile across his face. "Hey!" I give him a hug and I can see Shawn looking at us from across the room, with a skeptical look on his face.
"How've you been?" He asks.
"Really good! Things have been going great," I respond honestly. "How bout you?"
"Yeah not bad, I've gotten a really good job at this corporate downtown and I'm happy so can't complain."
"Well good, I'm happy for you."
We continue talking for a few minutes about school before I can see Shawn start to walk over which will make things completely awkward. "Hey dude," Shawn says slapping Andy's shoulder maybe a little too hard.
"Hey how's it going?" Andy shakes his hand.
"Really good," he says kind of shortly while stepping behind me and rubbing my arm. It's fairly obvious what he's trying to do, and Andy looks a little awkward.
"Well," Andy says after a moment of silence, "I think I'm going to go do a round, nice seeing you Kayleigh."
"See you!" I say as he walks away. "You couldn't have been a little more subtle? Jesus," I say laughing.
"Well sorry that I don't really want you talking to that dick."
"I'm just teasing you relax!" Shawn looks mildly annoyed. "Wanna get out of here?"
I grab my coat and say goodbye to Sara. "Are you just going to come to my house tonight?" Shawn asks.
"Yeah sure, but I can't sleepover tomorrow, I have early class Monday morning."
"Well you know you could just move in."
I turn my head sharply towards Shawn, "What?"
He hesitated for a moment before deciding if he wanted to say it again, but when he does speak again he speaks confidently. "Move in with me."
"Are you being serious right now?"
"Dead serious. I love you and I never want you to leave, so just come live with me."
"Eh, I'll have to think about," I say which leaves Shawn with a speechless look of panic on his face. "I'm totally kidding!" I lean into him and give him a kiss and then linger in for a tight hug.
"I hope you know that was mean." Shawn says through the smile on his face.
"It was just too easy." We stay standing like that on the street until our car comes. "I love you." I whisper before letting the embrace go.
"I love you too."
Omg yay moving in together!!!!! Also happy holidays everyone! Hope everybody has a fantastic break celebrating whatever it is that they celebrate! Best wishes, Xx
