Authors Note- I don't advise underage drinking:) I would lecture you about the harms but I am sure you have already heard it over and over. I also don't suggest giving into peer pressure like Delilah does and will do in multiple chapters.
"What the hell was that?" Rena looked at me with shock. She always made it known to me how hot Aspen was. I found it odd until now.
"I-I don't know." I muttered.
"You look like you need some booze."
I looked at her in disgust. The last time I drunk it was wild. That day I thought I grew some balls because I finally played a game of beer pong. The next morning I woke up in my own bathtub fully clothed and a bucket of kfc next to me. My hair was also somehow cut about 5 inches which I never learned how. It's safe to say I didn't drink for 2 years. That's until today, I guess.
Rena pouted and said, "I just want to have some fun with my best friend for one night. That's it."
This woman knew all my weaknesses and she was one. Plus, the thought of easing my anxiety with a drink or two didn't sound bad.
I nodded to her making her get excited all over again.
As we headed towards the kitchen of this house my sight went directly to the dance floor where I saw girls from my school acting nothing like themselves as they lost their mind on the dance floor.
I never understood what was fun about it but it wasn't my place to judge so I just kept up my pace and we finally arrived at the kitchen surrounded by teens just trying to get their alcoholic fill.
I looked further to meet eyes with the guy I'd seen in Rena's apartment and he was clearly in a drunken haze when he winked at me and smirked when I broke eye contact and my heart sped up its pace.
"So whatcha want?" Rena grinned and pointed to the various selections of kegs, cans, and bottles which were all full of alcohol.
My eyes swept over the selection and I grabbed the Smirnoff, surprising Rena.
"Let's get this over with." I whispered to myself and before Rena could do anything I poured 4 shots, two for me, two for her.
My hand grazed over the rim of the first one before I lifted it and tilted it's contents into my mouth, causing my throat to leave a burning sensation. I felt a bit gross in my stomach after drinking that one and quickly tipped back the second shot making me already aware of the contents sloshing around in my stomach.
After that, I looked at Rena to see her grimacing at the feeling and taste.
"You good?" She asked taking in my expression.
My emotions began changing up and my anxiety basically disappeared.
"Yeah. I needed that." I responded, walking into the main room unsure of what to do with myself.
Before I could think, a hand grabbed my own and pulled me into the dancing crowd.
I looked over and realized my friend Josie was the one to pull me in and she smiled wide, flashing her braces which for some reason she still had.
"Come on! Dance a little!"
Thinking about it in a drunk state made it not seem like such a bad idea. I mean, I spend most of my time dancing to 90's hip hop so I wasn't bad or anything. After contemplating I decided I had no dignity to lose and began swaying my hips to the beat of the old pop song. Feeling the pulsing of the music had me smiling to myself, I was free. The rhythm rushed through my feet and down to my fingertips as I was alone at the moment full of sheer happiness.
