~Chapter Twenty One.~

"How was your date!!"

I scream and drop my keys on the floor, then I hit my head on my door.

Gabe smiles shyly. "Oops. Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

After I came inside from my date, everyone was in bed, of course. So, I went straight up to my room. Well, it turns out Gabe, never went home and stayed in my room the whole time.

I stroke the back of my head and look at him like he's crazy. "What in the world are you still doing here?"

Gabe spreads his arms out. "What? Now that you got yourself a boyfriend, you don't want to see me anymore?"

"He's not my boyfriend." I mumble then take off my shoes and plops down on the bed.

"Yet." Gabe says with a smirk. When I glare at him, his face turns serious. "Sophie, what's with the attitude?"

I sigh and lay down on the bed on my back. "I..I just don't trust him. I don't know what it is, but..it feels wrong when I'm around him." And that wrong feeling, is me liking him, but I didn't say that.

I look over at him and see that his face has darkened. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything...

"He didn't do anything to you, did he?" He asked me in a low voice.

I shake my head and laugh. "No, Gabriel. He hasn't hurt me."

He sighs relieved. "Okay, because if he ever did, I would rip his-"

"Hey!" I inturupt him. "I don't need to hear what part of his body you're going to rip out."

He smirks. "Oh, yeah...I forgot how innocent you are."

I roll my eyes and yawn then kick my shoes off my feet and off the bed.

I feel my bed droop and feel a warm body lay next to me. "You're going to stay the night tonight?" I ask him sleepily.

He takes off my glasses and lays them on my bedside table then pulls me close to him. "Yeah, I already asked my parents if I could."  I nod and yawn again."You're not sleeping in your pajamas?" He asks me.

I smile and shake my head. "No, I'm too lazy to get up."

Gabe chuckles quietly and strokes my hair with his hand. Sometimes I wish that Gabe was my boyfriend...and this is one of those times. "Goodnight, Soppie."

I feel my eyes grow heavy. "Goodnight, Gabe."

Last thing I remember before falling asleep, is Gabe turning off the light.

~Zacks P.O.V~ (After he gets home)

Ugh! She's getting in my head! With her cute little face, and her glasses...It's only supposed to be a bet!

"You're starting to like her, aren't you?" Ian asks me, stuffing a big bite of popcorn in his mouth. "You know, you could always call off the bet." He says, muffling his words with the popcorn.

I run my hand through my hair and shake my head. "I can't...I don't have that much money. And I don't like her."

He looks unconvinced. "Ya...right. If you say so."

I shake my head at him. "Anyway, she had a terrible time tonight." I say and groan. "I have no idea how I'm going to win this."

Ian shrugs. "I don't know either, man." He stands up and picks his phone off the table. "But, all I know is that I have to head home."

I look at the clock on my wall then back at him. "I'll stay up for a little bit... Think about how I can get her to like me."

He laughs. "Good luck, Dude."

"Thanks." I say sarcastically.

He salutes me then leaves my room and slams my door closed.

I laugh at my best friend. Out of all four guys, Ian is the closest to me. It's not that I don't like the others, it's just I've known Ian longer.

How did I get into this stupid bet, you ask?

Well, it all started one night a month ago, when all of us was drunk and we were playing truth or dare. Mike dared me to kiss Sophie, and I said that, that would be easy... Long story short, we got into a fight and I somehow ended up betting that I could get her to be my girlfriend by the end of the month.

Mike took that to his advantage, and said that if I didn't get her to be my girlfriend, I would have to pay every guy in our group one hundred dollars.

I don't have that much money.

I don't even have a hundred dollars, let alone four hundred dollars.

And if I lose, I would lose my reputation and end up getting thrown out of our group.

That can NOT happen.

Sophie just doesn't understand. She doesn't know what it's like to have a reputation to uphold.

There I go again. Thinking about Sophie. Here lately, she's all I've been thinking about.

I sigh and lay the bowl of popcorn on my dresser, know my Mom is going to get angry at me in the morning for leaving food in my room over night.

'If we get rats in this house, you're going to be the one who's going to pay for the exterminator." She always tells me in her whiny voice. I get tired of her nagging me.

I take my shirt and jeans off then lay on top of the covers. I can't sleep under the covers, I get too hot in the middle of the night.

I have absolutely no clue what I'm going to do...How about if I try to get her to be my friend, instead of a lover, then slowly have her to like me....Yeah, 'cause, Chicks respond more if you start out their friend...especially Chicks like, Sophie.

I smile up at my ceiling. That's what I'm going to do.

"Watch out, Sophie, you're about to win me four hundred dollars." I say right before I fall asleep.
