Forever on Fire (Katniss & Peeta)

Chapter 4

I cradle Rye in my arms, as Katniss snuggles into me and Willow snuggles into her. We're sitting watching an animated movie and thankfully my hangover has cleared up.

One of the songs come on, and Willow and Katniss sing along.

A stupid grin spreads across my face as the song slowly fades out and the credits roll. Just then we hear a thumping at the door.

"I'll get it" I whisper pulling myself of the couch

I open the doors to find Johanna.

"Hey' I say

"Where's Katniss?" She asks

"Uh, inside."

"Good. I need to see her. Now."

"It's nice to see you too" I mutter

"This isn't a fucking joke" she says, almost as if she was crying.

"Are you okay?" I ask

"No, I need to see Katniss. Now." She replies with urgency

I go and get Katniss.

"I need to tell you something" Johanna says "let's go for a walk"

Katniss' POV

She grabs my arm and pulls me through one of the holes in the fence.

"Will you tell me what's wrong now?" I ask

"No" she replies. "Not until we're further away from the fence"

We walk for what seems like miles.

"Are you going to confess to a murder or something?" I ask sarcastically

"No, but I'm in deep shit" she replies.

I sigh as we trek further into the woods.

Finally Johanna is convinced it's safe to talk.

"So, are you going to tell me now?"

She glances behind her before sitting down on the grass and leaning against a tree. I follow her lead "Yeah, I'll tell you"

She sits in silence for several minutes. I decide to stay quiet, because I didn't really want to interrupt her thoughts. She looked really worried.

"I've really fucked up this time" she whispers, her voice barely audible. "You better not judge me"

"Don't worry" I reply "I won't judge you, I promise."

She takes one more glance behind her, before whispering, "I think I might be pregnant"
