Writer of 'A Different Virus - Heartfire'
When did you join Wattpad?
I found Wattpad back in January of 2016 when I was looking for free ebooks for my Kobo.
That began my time of reading online. The little create button in the top left kept nagging me though, and I eventually decided to write a small 30 chapter story about someone surviving a zombie apocalypse and joining a trading group.
Well... long story short, it exploded into a 495K+ journey (Even the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy has under 400K words...)
Then I realized just how much I liked writing, to the point where I spend more time writing than reading.
How did it feel like when you posted your first story on Wattpad?
When I started posting my story, I honestly didn't think that more than a dozen people would see it. When I finished it and clicked the complete button, the exhilaration was astounding. The words that came to my mind were "Wow. What a ride!"
Who/What influenced your writing?
Hmmm... That's a good question. My favorite author is Mercedes Lackey, but I read hundreds of books in school, library, and second-hand store.
What inspires you to write your stories?
Ever get a song's lyrics/beat stuck in your head? I get ideas/scenes stuck in mine in a similar manner. Once I start writing, it usually unfolds like a daydream.
What is your advice to new writers?
Don't get frustrated when you discover that there are far more writing/grammar rules in English than you ever imagined was possible. It will take time to learn them (I'm 3 years in writing, and STILL learning), but it is learning that won't go amiss. Let your readers know if you like feedback, and they are usually happy to help.
What do you do when you have Writer's Block?
I usually reread the last 3-5 chapters and go for a long walk with good music.
