Princess Adela christened at Chapel Royal
The christening of Princess Adela has taken place in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London.
The princess, who is not in line to the throne, was baptised by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
The christening was private, with only senior royals, six members of the Spencer family, the seven godparents and their spouses among the 30 guests.
Princess Adela, daughter of the Princess Eirene of Wales, was born in London on 12 January.
The princess carried her newly christened daughter out of the chapel after the ceremony, and the guests then left for tea hosted by the Prince of Wales at Clarence House.
The godparents, announced earlier, are Princess Beatrice, Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Trinity Spencer, Prince Harry, Prince Carl Philip, Lucas Oldman and Mike Tindall.
Princess Adela was baptised in a replica of the lace and satin christening gown made for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, the Princess Royal, in 1841.
The princess chose two hymns, two lessons and two anthems for the christening.
The ceremony took about 45 minutes.
The pictures are expected to be released on Thursday.
Eirene's day have been very relaxing so far, William had called her to come over in the afternoon so they could catch up. She spent the whole afternoon with her brother and Adela, who's 4 months old. They talked all afternoon about this new role that Eirene is going to take with the Queen giving Eirene some of her patronages.
"So how are you doing?" William asked Eirene as he play with little Adela. "How are you coping with everything?" He asked.
"I'm doing okay, I think. Katie is there to explain how things are going and what to expect. It's been a roller coaster ride to be honest. You know being a parent has opened my eyes to a lot of things. But I'm definitely more happy now then I was before she came into my life." Eirene confessed.
"I'm sure you'll be fine, Eirene. I'm glad motherhood has made Katie and you more closer, I was always worried you two wouldn't have anything in common. I have definitely seen a change in you and I like it." William said as Catherine came to where they were sitting and sat down next to William.
"Hey Katie, you didn't go have lunch with Camilla?" Eirene asked her sister in law.
"That was yesterday, Eirene." Catherine answered.
"Oh." Eirene said.
"So, I heard from a little birdie that The Duke of Escambia was at your home the other day." Catherine said.
"Leati, was just bringing a gift he got for Adela." She said.
"We're using first names now." William said.
"Oh God, you two are a mess." Eirene said.
"Hey, Eirene if you like him, I'll support it. We just want you to be happy." Catherine said.
