33 | did you leak it

Kenzie's pov

After I came back from school, Maddie knew I was overwhelmed so she suggested we go on a walk at the pier and buy some ice-cream.

I really hoped this would get me off my thoughts.

After we had bought ice-cream we just walked around talking.

Suddenly I see Maisy with her friend Devenity.

"Maisy, Devenity" I yell and wave at them
they smile and approach me. We hug
"hey Kenz are you alright?" Maisy asks
"Yeah, kinda, Im fine" I say stuttering
"aw don't worry, I'm sure everything will be fine soon" she says and hugs me again
"You guys looked cute in that photo anyways" Devenity says in an attempt to make me laugh, I smile.
"Yeah, when I showed it to her she wouldn't believe it was real, she thought it was photoshopped, until it actually got out" Maisy explains
"wait. You showed it to her before it got leaked?" I ask
"Yeah, you know she loves Johnny" maisy replies
"oh" I say

I didn't even know she had the picture, she must have taken it when I was in the bathroom. But still theres no reason for her to go and show it to everybody. Its my personal life.

I turn to Maddie and she's looking at me weirdly.

"wait a sec guys" she says to the girls and grabs me to the side
"It's her" she says sharply "what?"
"It's her, Devenity, she leaked it" she quickly says
"what? why would she do it?" I ask, I didn't even think about that, maybe she actually did

"Come on kenz, you know she never really liked you" Maddie says again
"But do you think she would ever do it" I ask not even believing in what I said, because I am sure that she would actually do something like that.
"Yeah I do" Maddie says "Come on, we'll confront her" she drags me back to them

"Did you leak the photo?" Maddie asks Devenity demandingly

She refuses to make eye-contact with us, staring at the floor.

I take a step closer to her "She said, did you leak that photo of me and Johnny?"
"Of you, what?" she hisses "Of you cheating with someone?"
" I didn't cheat with anyone" I hiss back " I didn't know who he was. I didn't know that he was actually dating her"
"Yeah right" Devenity scoffs
"don't lie to me" I look at her angry
"I am not" she hisses
"Stop Dev, we know the truth" I reply

"Well thats the only thing I did, shared the truth" she replies sassily
I look at her blankly "You're so bitter and fake"
" Oh" she says and gasps

Then I hear Maddie count " 1, 2, 3"

We both shove our ice-creams synchronised on Devenity's face and we just walk off.

Maisy did nothing really bad, but right now I couldn't deal with her

" I really wanted to eat that ice-cream tho" I say at Maddie and we just laugh about all this.
