Los Angeles, California-June 18, 2012
“Ryleigh, hurry up!” Katie yelled to her best friend who was taking her sweet time getting ready.
“Coming, good grief hold on,” Ryleigh said as she sauntered out of her bathroom wearing a black tight fitting shirt, jeans, and black platform heels.
“You look cute as always,” Katie said to her friend, “Josh will be here any minute so let’s go outside and wait.”
Ryleigh and Katie walked outside of the downtown apartment that they shared together.
“There he is,” Katie said with delight as she opened up the passenger side door and climbed in next to Josh, her boyfriend of about a year.
“Hey doll,” Josh smiled and kissed Katie on the cheek, “Hey punk,” he said looking back at Ryleigh.
“Yeah whatever,” Ryleigh said as she put her ear buds in her ears and turned her music up on her phone.
The three were going to a nightclub in West Hollywood called The Viper Room. Josh found a parking place and walked around to Katie’s door and opened it.
Ryleigh got out of the backseat and closed the door and walked behind Josh and Katie.
“When we get in here, I’m ditching you two lovebirds,” Ryleigh laughed as she stood in line to get in.
“Well, if you weren’t so damn stubborn about relationships Rye, you could have someone here with you, but no, you’re so against them,” Katie laughed.
“Yep, don’t plan on ever having another relationship in my lifetime,” she laughed.
They finally got in through the front doors of The Viper room and Ryleigh went in the opposite direction of Josh and Katie.
“See you guys later,” she called as she walked towards the bar.
Ryleigh was a thirty year old, from Los Angeles. She was starting a new job that Monday with a well known marketing firm called, Reed International. It was a well known international firm that she had been trying to get hired by for the past three years. She was hired as one of the marketing executives and this was her weekend to celebrate her new job.
“It was nice seeing you too,” Adam said to an old acquaintance that he hadn’t seen in awhile. He began making his way back to the bar when he spotted a beautiful brunette that caught him off guard and made him walk to the opposite side, so that he can have a better look at her.
Ryleigh felt eyes on her and looked to the opposite side of the bar to notice a sexy, attractive, bad boy type. This was Ryleigh’s type because she knew men like him wouldn’t want any type of relationship, maybe a one night stand. She thought to herself that he was cute enough, so she grinned at him. Adam lifted his beer in response to her grin.
“Bartender,” Adam called.
“Yes, Mr. Reed?” he replied.
“Send the lady whatever she’s drinking please and all her drinks are on me tonight,” he nodded.
“Sure thing sir,” he answered and walked over to Ryleigh and handed her a Budweiser.
“I didn’t ask for another,” Ryleigh said as the bartender placed a beer down in front of her.
“Compliments of the gentleman across the bar,” he smiled.
“Oh thanks,” she smiled as she tipped her beer towards Adam.
Adam grinned and nodded at Ryleigh. Thinking this could be a good time to go and make conversation with her, he got up and walked over to where she was sitting.
“Hey there, I’m Adam,” he smiled.
“Ryleigh, nice to meet you Adam,” she said as she held her hand out.
“Ryleigh, interesting name, nice to meet you as well,” he said as he kissed her hand.
“Thanks for the beer, you here alone?” she asked.
“Yeah, how about you? No six foot four guy is gonna come outta the woodworks and kick my ass is he?” Adam laughed looking around.
“No, I’m just here with my friend and her boyfriend. I don’t think they’d come kick your ass,” she laughed.
“Well, that’s a good thing, you dance?” he grinned.
“I do, not very well, but I love to try,” she smiled sitting her beer on the bar and standing up.
“Then come on and I’ll lead, bartender one more drink for the floor please,” Adam motioned.
“Yes sir, here you go,” he said handing Adam two shots of tequila.
“Ready, let’s shoot and go dance it’ll loosen you up on your dancing a little more,” he said as he threw his shot back.
“I think I may need two,” Ryleigh laughed.
“Two more please,” Adam put two fingers up and the bartender brought two more shots.
Adam and Ryleigh threw their shots back in sync.
“Alright, let’s go,” Ryleigh smiled at Adam.
Ryleigh and Adam made their way to the dance floor.
“You are fantastic dancer Adam,” Ryleigh smiled as she complimented him.
“And I don’t see how you can say you aren’t very good doll,” he smiled.
They danced for at least an hour on the dance floor and made their way back to the bar.
“I’m gonna be sore tomorrow,” she laughed.
“Nah, you’ll be okay,” Adam held up four fingers to the bartender who sat down two shots in front of Ryleigh and two in front of Adam.
They sat and threw back shots of tequila for another thirty minutes.
“I think I’m a little drunk,” Ryleigh smiled looking at Adam.
“Me too,” he said as he took her chin with two fingers and lifted her head and kissed her on the lips.
“So, what do you wanna do?” Ryleigh asked.
“Same thing you do,” he grinned as they walked towards the front of the bar.
“I need to pay for my drinks,” Ryleigh babbled.
“It’s taken care of,” Adam smiled walking her to the waiting SUV.
