I'm messed up, Louis. Big time

My head jolted away from the pillow my head was resting on as I was woken by the sound of a light bang. My eyes were hardly open as I slowly sat up. I stretched and stifled a yawn as I looked around the room. I had fallen asleep in my bedroom. I was still on the sofa where I was sat when Harry left. I leant forward, resting my elbows on my knees as I put my head in my hands and let out a sigh. Memories of what happened earlier today flooded my mind.

My head snapped towards the living room door as it opened; my dad walked in and threw his keys onto the side. He looked around the room and looked slightly surprised to see me.

“You’re back early” he said as he slipped his shoes off

“Back?” I asked

“I thought you were going to see Lilly today, where’s Harry?” crap. I’m sorry Lilly.

“Harry had to go, and I must have just fallen asleep” I gave him a small smile. “I’ll go next weekend instead”

My dad gave me a puzzled look. “Are you sure you’re ok, sweetheart? Did anything happen while I was gone?”

“No dad, I’m fine. Just, I didn’t expect to see Harry again, that’s all” I shrugged standing up from the sofa and stretching my arms upwards.

My dad just nodded his head, taking in my excuse. “Well, I’m starving, what do you want for dinner?” he smiled.

Harry’s POV

The front door shut behind me and I wanted nothing more than to go back in there and just hold her. I wish there was a way for me to show her how sorry I; how serious I am about fixing us.

I sat in my car and ran my fingers through my hair and tugged on it slightly in frustration. How could I have been so selfish?

Now what?

I guess I’ll just go back to the complex and just lay in my bed out of self-pity.

I arrived at the complex, expecting the rest of the boys to be out somewhere or the other. I shut the door of mine and Louis’ apartment, surprised to see Louis sat on the sofa watching the TV.

Louis turned his head away from the TV and looked at me with a smile on his face. I gave him a small smile, although it may have been forced, causing Louis’ smile to falter. I threw my keys on the small table by the front door and started to shrug my coat off my shoulders as I walked towards the stairs.

“You alright, Haz?” He asked, I could hear the slight worry in his voice

“Yep” is all I gave him. But it didn’t sound the slightest bit convincing.

I didn’t look back to Louis, but I could feel his eyes on me. He wasn’t stupid; he’d be able to tell something was up. Nothing gets past him.

He didn’t say anything. I just kept my head up and headed to my room, fully prepared to not come out for a while.

I kicked my shoes off and replaced my jeans for joggers…diving straight into my bed, not wanting to see any one for a while. Well, except one person, scratch that, two people, but there was no way it was gunna happen.

I stayed there in silence for what felt like ages, thinking about what was going to happen now. Could things between me and Lucy ever be repaired? Would I ever see Lucy again? My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of knocking on my bedroom door. I inwardly groaned. If I told Louis to go away he would know something was definitely up, but he’d figure it out even if I let him in. Talk about a no win situation.

I sat up in my bed and reached for the TV remote, pressing the on button; my attempt to make it look like I hadn’t been wallowing in my self-pity since I got back.

“Come in” I called out.

The door creaked open and Louis poked his head in. I looked over to him, and he gave me a small smile which I tried to return the best I could.

He shut the door behind him and walked over to my bed and plonked himself down at the end of it.

“Didn’t know you like this sort of thing, Harry…” he piped up after looking to the screen and raising an eye brow after seeing a programme about auctions and antiques was on. Just my luck.

“Uh…I don’t…there’s just, not much else on” I shrugged. That excuse seemed reasonable. That is until Louis picked up the remote and flicked through the channels, instantly finding programmes way better than what I had on.

“Uh-huh” Louis said sceptically and raised an eye brow at me. He turned the TV off and dropped the remote beside him on the bed. I knew what was coming. I just sat there with my arms crossed over my chest, hands tucked under my armpits. I didn’t know where to look.

“Come on, Haz. Are you gunna tell me what’s going on?” He asked hesitantly

“Nothing to tell” I mumbled quietly. My eyes found a space on the ground to look at…I kept my eyes fixed there.

“I know you, Harry. I know when something’s up. You can tell me”

“I know” I said

“So talk to me” he encouraged me

I sighed and looked up to meet his worried gaze. “I’m messed up, Louis. Big time”
