"I don't understand whats wrong with you." Nikki says. I look at her confused, "You've got to be kidding me! How would you feel if your mate was the most arrogant, self-centered, egotistical arse to ever walk these halls?!" She just shakes her head and sighs. "Gregori may be self-centered and arrogant but come on Annie, he's your mate and the soon to be alpha. Give him a chance. Does he know?"
I shake my head frantically, "No! Don't even think about telling him! If he found out that would only cause problems. Problems we don't need. Please Nikki."
"Alright, I won't say anything." Nikki agrees. "Thank you."
Ok, let me tell you a little about myself. My name is Adrianna Gemthone, and I am 16 years old. Im what you would call a werewolf but what we are trully called are Licans.
My wolf just appeared last year so Im still new.
I was 10 years old when my father was murded by another alpha. My mother was forced to take over. Our pack hasnt been, the same since my father was killed.
I never understood my mom. She loved my father and swore she would never move on if he died. Now shes remarried. Can you say, liar?
Maybe Im being over dramatic. I dont know.
Ok, back to the story.
Nikki and I stopped by our lockers before first period and I heard a musculine voice behind me say, "Hello mate." I whipped around nearly breaking my nose on Gregori's chest. "How the hell did you know?!" I hiss from behind gritted teeth.
"Oh please, you really thought you could hide from me? I knew you were my mate a year ago." I swear my jaw wouldve been on the floor if it couldve reached it.
I stare at him in disbelief. "You knew and yet you still slept around and embarrassed me?"I sneer.
His growl told me "yes" but his body said "I dont care".
"Yes I knew you were my mate, but I also knew you would never accept me little one. So I got my pleasure elsewhere. " the tone in his voice giving away slight regret.
"Whatever, I don't want you now, I never will want you. Goodbye." I said in a huff and walked away, leaving Nikki alone with the insufferable arse.
My next class was English, I wasn't really looking forward to it considering my mother was my teacher.
Ugh! Just what I need is another lecture on my mate after class. Please not today mother.
I entered the classroom and to my surprise my mother wasnt there. Instead in her place was Mr. Harrington.
"Um, excuse me Mr.Harrington? " I stutter.
"Yes Adrianna?" He says as he looks at me over the brim of his gold rimmed glasses.
"Where is my mother?" I say slightly worried and confused.
She never misses work.
"Oh, she was sent home. She was rather ill today my dear." He said just brushing it off.
Of course brush it off you pompous windbag. Little do you know my mother is NEVER sick. I'll just check on her when I get home this afternoon.
I carry on the rest of the afternoon in classes wanting to go home and check on my mother. I hope she's alright.
