Today is the day I can finally get out of the hospital. The nurse came earlier today for a couple of final tests and everything was fine. Now all I have to do is wait for Alexa to come get me. Right now I am walking around the hospital and trying to find a certain very good looking guy. I noticed that every single time a nurse did a test on my arm, he would go talk to her about the results, I’m guessing. Every time I would ask the nurse who he was, she claimed she didn’t know his name. So now that I have about an hour before Alexa gets here, I will try to find him.
After walking around for half an hour, I finally saw the guy I was looking for. I ran up to him and grabbed his arm.
“Hi.” I said.
“Umm, hello?” the guy replied more like a question than a greeting.
“Who are you?”
“Why do you want to know?”
“Because I know you’ve been getting my test results from the nurse. So, I would like to know who you are and why you’re interested in my condition.” I explained.
“Okay, well, my name is Cameron Lockheart.”
“I would tell you my name is Bridget Maden but you probably already knew that.” I stated. “How old are you Cameron?”
“I’m 18, same as you.”
“How do you know my age and name? You don’t go to my school and we’ve never met before.”
“When I brought you in last week –” Cameron started.
“Wait! You’re the random guy that found me?”
“Yes, I’m that random guy.” he chuckled.
I jumped in his arms and hugged him tightly. Thank goodness he caught me.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” I shrieked.
“It’s no big deal Bridget.” he laughed.
“You saved my life! It’s a pretty big deal!” I said still in his arms.
“I guess.” He laughed again. God he has a cute laugh.
“Why didn’t you want me to know who you were?” I asked while getting out of his arms and walking towards a chair.
“I didn’t think you’d jump in my arms and hug me. I thought you’d say I was a freak or a stalker and hit me or something.” Cameron explained.
“Oh, I guess you’re forgiven then.” I smirked.
“Good.” he smiled. Totally attractive too might I say. “Can I get your number? You know, to keep in touch.” he continued.
“Yeah sure.” I gave him my number and got his. “I should go find my friend; she’s my ride home. Bye Cameron.” I hugged him.
“Bye Bridget. I’ll call you tonight.”
“Okay, thanks again for everything!”
I found Alexa in the parking lot and told her everything that happened just minutes earlier. We made our way to her house and started the movies. Cameron texted me while Alexa and I were watching our third movie.
Cameron: Hi :)
Bridget: Hey :)
Cameron: Do you want to meet somewhere to talk? I want to tell you something but it has to be in person
I hadn’t gone out with a guy in about two years. Taking this in consideration, Alexa let me leave for a bit as long as I came back after for our sleepover.
Bridget: Sure! :) Where do you want to meet?
Cameron: How about the coffee shop on Main Street?
Bridget: Sounds good! I’ll see you there in ten minutes :)
Cameron: See you there :)
I got ready and drove to the coffee shop. Cameron was waiting on the front steps looking as cute as ever.
“Hello!” I called out, making my way to him.
“Hey!” he called back.
When I got to him, we hugged and made our way to a table. I ordered hot chocolate and he got an iced cappuccino.
“You don’t like coffee?” Cameron questioned.
“I like it but I can’t resist the hot chocolate here. It’s just so good!”
“Oh okay.” he smirked.
“So what do you want to tell me?” I asked curious.
“I just thought I should tell you who shot you.”
“Oh, okay. Yeah, I’d like to know that.”
“It was one of my friends. Joe Thomas. He and two of my other friends, Scott and Chris, were messing around and accidentally hit you.”
“So it was an accident? It’s not because anyone hates me?” I asked.
“Of course not Bridget! And if it makes you feel any better, he turned himself in and has to spend two months in a cell. He wanted me to apologize for him. He feels really bad.” Cameron said.
“He’s forgiven. He obviously isn’t a bad guy. I hope I get to meet him one day.”
“As soon as he’s free, I promise you’ll meet him.”
“This is going to sound weird but do you have a boyfriend?” Cameron asked me.
“No, I’m single. I’ve been single for two years now.” I confessed.
“What? Are you refusing everyone or are they stupid?”
“I might have refused everyone. I have a reason though.”
“And what is it?” he asked.
“I dated a guy when I was sixteen and he turned out to be a total jerk. Since then, I have a hard time trusting guys. I’m afraid to get hurt again.” I told Cameron.
“Well, I promise to never be a jerk when we hang out. You’re so nice and deserve to be treated properly.” he promised.
“Thank you Cameron. You’re really sweet.”
I talked with Cameron for another hour and then I went back to Alexa’s house.
“So, how was it?” Alexa asked as soon as I walked through the door.
I told her everything that happened from beginning to end in full detail. We talked a bit more and then we went to sleep.
