Chapter 13: We have to stop him

Sorry again for the long wait and thanks for your patience. I know the updates are really slow but I hope you enjoy reading anyway.

"I'm so sorry Amy, I failed to protect you." Sonic said after closing his eyes, knowing that the dragon will kill him any second. Sonic opened his eyes as he heard someone attacking the dragon "DON'T MESS WITH MY FAMILY!". Sonic saw something black striking at the dragon as his vision began to blur. He even heard someone calling out his name before everything turned black.

As Shadow and the others were searching for his brother and the princess, they suddenly heard Amy screaming and the sound of fighting. "Let's hurry." Shadow said after Silver looked really worried at him. Shadow dashed right  towards the noise till he was in the hall-like place and there he saw the dragon but neither Amy or Sonic. 

Shadow looked all around for his younger brother till he found him underneath the dragons paw. "Sonic ..." Shadow whispered and he got really angry. "DON'T MESS WITH MY FAMILY!" Shadow shouted before he struck at the dragon. 

The others also reached the hall-like place as Shadow started fighting the dragon. Silver pushed his way in front of his friends, who all looked shocked at the scene in front of them, to see what's going on but he stopped walking as he saw his older brother was angrily fighting a dragon. His view then landed on Sonic, who tried to stay awake and Silver rushed immediately towards the blue hedgehog.

"Sonic are you alright? ... SONIC!" Silver said worried before he noticed his older brothers bloody clothes. "He's injured. Rouge, Cream, help me. All the others go and help Shadow." Silver said now in a panic of loosing one of his brothers. 

Right after Silver gave the command to attack, the knights raised their swords and charged at the dragon but Shadow stopped them. "Don't you interfere, this dragon is mine to kill." Shadow said angry as he noticed the others coming his direction. The knights immediately stopped their attack but staid alert if something should happen to Shadow.

While Shadow was letting out all of his anger on the dragon Silver, Rouge, Cream and Tails were checking Sonic's injuries. "We need to stop the bleeding." Tails said as he saw the huge scratch, while Cream looked worried around. "Don't worry Cream, the dragon will be gone soon." Rouge said noticing Creams uneasiness. "That's not what I'm worried about, I'm worried about Amy, I can't see her anywhere." Cream said concerned. 

"But we can't search for her now, not while Shadow is fighting the dragon." Rouge said, knowing that they would be in Shadows way. "But we have to do something, what if she is injured like Sonic or worse." Cream asked making Rouge worry even more before she turned towards Shadow and the dragon.

Shadow already managed to injure the dragons right arm badly, he actually was going after the beasts chest to kill it, but the dragon could get its arm in between just in time. "Shadow hurry up and kill it, we can't find Amy" Shadow heard Rouge shouting at him. "Die already." Shadow screamed and once again went after the beasts chest. This time he managed to strike his sword right into the dragons chest and the dragon started roaring loudly. 

It tried to get Shadow and his swords away from it as Shadow pushed his sword even future into the huge reptiles chest. The dragon managed to get a hit on Shadow, causing the black hedgehog to fly all the way towards the others side of the hall, before the best made his last breath and fell onto its side. 

Shadow jumped up on his feet and went back towards the dragon to get his sword back. "Serves you right." Shadow said and pulled the sword out of the dragons chest. The others then all started to look for Amy as Tails and Silver took care of Sonic.

"I can't find her anywhere, you don't think the princess got eaten by the dragon, do you." Knuckles asked after they searched the hall from bottom to top. He then suddenly felt light pain on the back of his head, after Rouge punched him "Don't say that, it can't be true." "We need to get Sonic back to consciousness, he knows what happened to her for sure." Blaze said and the others agreed.

They tried everything they could to wake Sonic up, but after twenty minutes of trying they gave up and decided to maybe go a bit future ahead, in hope they would find Amy there. Shadow and Knuckles were carrying Sonic, since they don't want to split up in case anything should happen. Silver and Blaze were leading the way and they soon saw the end of the cave. 

"This can't be possible, we are already outside the cave and no sign of Amy." Shade said as she looked around. Blaze than noticed a river not far from them. "I'll be right back." she said before she rushed over to the river. As she came back she had a bag of water with her. Before anyone could ask what she wants to do with the bag she already poured the water over Sonics face. 

The blue hedgehog immediately opened his eyes and sat up, which he regret since his injury hurt a lot. "Ahh ... what happened, where am I, ...  AMY" Sonic questioned himself, not noticing his friends and brothers standing around him. As Sonic than wanted to stand up he was pushed down by Silver. "You idiot, don't stand up yet, you are injured. I thought you were dead as we found you." Silver said close to tears as he hugged his older brother.

"Wha- ... what are you all doing here." Sonic asked after he finally realized all his friends. "We were ordered to find you and Amy, since everyone things you either tried to rescue the princess from a kidnapper or you kidnapped her yourself." Shadow answered. "What? I would never kidnap Amy, I'm her bodyguard and I just helped her get away from that green bastard." Sonic said angry. 

"We know you wouldn't do that and according to what you have told us Amy was with you. Now tell me where she is." Rouge said, wanting to know where the princess is. "We were running away from you, we thought you were going to take Amy back to the kingdom and then we ran into Scourge and his dragon." Sonic explained, which shocked everyone.

"What was Scourge doing in there, we thought he would stay in the kingdom to prepare everything for the wedding so he and Amy could marry as soon as we would return with the two of you." Knuckles asked. "He tried to kill me and he kidnapped Amy." Sonic said this time standing up after remembering that Scourge took Amy with him.

"Where do you think you're going?" Shadow asked as he was pushed aside by his younger brother. "I have to stop Scourge from marrying Amy." Sonic said not excited about the wedding. "No you can't, you are injured and besides what exactly do you want to do once you interrupt the wedding." Silver said. "He's right and I'm sure Scourge will tell the king that you kidnapped her, which means you will be either thrown into prison or killed immediately as soon as the king lays his eyes on you." Rouge said.

"I don't care, but I will not allow Scourge to marry Amy, I love her and will do everything to stop him." Sonic said but started blushing as he realized what he said. "I knew it." Rouge said but before Sonic could talk himself out of the situation Shadow started talking "Fine then, let's go." 

"What are you starring at, do you really think I allow you to fight all by yourself with that injury." Shadow asked as Sonic kept on looking at him. "Shadow's right, we will help too." Cream said and everyone else agreed. "Let's go and stop that wedding." Rouge said.

Alright I don't know what to think of the chapter cause it got a little bit weird but whatever. Anyway I think there will be about two or three more chapters so stay tuned and hope you like the story.
