A few hours later we were walking back towards our room, and London had my hand tight in his. I never realized before everything that went into a wedding, and how much preparation it took, especially for a Royal wedding. My head was still spinning with the different fabric choices and colors, and rotating china patterns that had to be elegant enough for the family of the North.
I knew that I liked Patricia Oxford almost as soon as she sat down with us. She was extremely pleasant to both London and I and she waited patiently for London to inform me about all the rituals that were supposed to be performed during the ceremony.
Because it would be a Royal affair, other Royalty from all over the world would be in attendance, and they expected certain rituals to be performed, like having to drink a member of the Council's blood at the beginning of the ceremony, and London and I each having to take blood from one another after reading our vows to symbolize that we are now Royally blood bonded to the Throne, as well as each other.
When London told me about having to drink blood from a Council member, his body got really tense and he balled his hands into fists. I could tell that he wasn't happy about it, but knew that he didn't have any way out of it, so we had to go through with it. He didn't mention who we would be taking blood from, but I would bet money that it would be Markus. He seemed to be closest to the family of the North, and to London.
A question that I had been dying to ask since the meeting began running through my head again and I couldn't resist asking anymore.
"London, is there any reason we have to be married so quickly? We could wait till after the baby, you know."
"Yes, my dear, I know. But I would rather be married to you before you have her, and then once you've given birth and have had a few months to recuperate, we'll ascend the Throne as King and Queen," he stated, completely sure of himself.
"And that would be the best course of action?" I asked.
"I think so. Why? Is there an issue I don't know about?" He stopped walking and turned to face me.
"No, no. I was just wondering. It kind of seems like we're rushing the wedding, but with everything that's happening, maybe it's for the best."
I didn't have any issue with marrying London as quickly as I could, but I wanted to make sure that he didn't feel like he was being rushed, and I wanted to make sure this was what he wanted.
"Briar Rose, don't be ridiculous! All I've wanted to do since I brought you here was make you mine. I don't feel rushed at all, baby. All I want is you," he told me after pulling me in close to him and wrapping his arms around me. I felt safe and loved all at once.
"Sorry for reading your thoughts, my love, but I needed to understand what was going on in that beautiful head of yours."
"It's alright, London. I just wanted to make sure we were both ready to go forward."
"Oh, my love, make no mistake about that. The sooner you are completely mine, the better," he whispered into my ear, while he hands started to massage my body, rubbing every inch of me that he could.
His lips began to explore my ear lobe, then moved down to my neck, and up to my cheek bones. The way he was holding me and touching me had me reeling and wanting him, almost panting and vibrating with the sudden spikes of pleasure and urgency that I was feeling. It was a delicate high, and I wanted to plunge myself right into it, into him.
His hands tugged on my dress a little too hard and suddenly my breasts were bared and he plunged his head downward, catching one of my nipples in his mouth, and the other with his warm, skillful fingers that started to roll and caress the sensitive skin.
