Zara had lead a humble lifestyle and had blossomed into a beautiful 10 year old; her long blonde curly hair fell to well below her shoulders and her tanned complexion gave her a glow - that she or Emily and Richard could not explain. She had made many friends at muggle school, she was a social child not afraid to speak her mind and excelled in most subjects: however things happened to her that no one could explain - such as one time she was playing kiss chase in the playground, she was running away from the boys when she found herself on the roof of the caretakers shed, unable to explain how and why she got up there, she was sent home, much to the disappointment of her parents. Things like this that never happened, were becoming regular, but Zara could not explain them.

On the 5th of June - Zara's birthday - she recieved a letter; it was written on yellowing paper and had a seal on the back of which Zara could not make out. She called for her parents before opening the letter and gasping at what it said:

She turned to her parents, who looked at each other with an expression of shock and disbelief, they knew there was something special about Zara but never thought that magic existed - let alone a school teaching it. All of sudden Zara was full of questions: she didn't understand how her parents didn't know about this - which left them no choice but to explain about what happened on the 19th of September, 10 years ago. Zara looked to her parents - tears welling up in her eyes - and fled upstairs to her bedroom...These people who had showered her with love and attention all these years, were not even related to her.

2 months later and after receiving instructions on where to purchase her new school supplies - Zara, Emily and Richard made their way to London, to a small pub called the Leaky Cauldron and followed the instructions on the sheet of paper. Much to their amazement there was a whole street behind the small, dingy pub, full of people in odd clothing. Zara looked to the paper and read that they needed to go to Gringotts bank to change 'muggle' money into the wizarding currency. As they walked in they gasped at the sight...Goblins...everywhere, weighing up huge piles of money, gold, silver and beautiful gems.Zara walked over to one and explained her situation, the goblin did not speak but pointed to another who changed some muggle money up for her.

Walking back out onto the street, Zara's head was spinning; there was so much to see and do, but she thought she best focus on the essentials. First of all she got measured up for some robes...The kindly old lady in the shop gave her parents an awful look as she muttered under her breath; "very slim" and "are they not feeding you?" She eventually came out with some beautiful fitted robes of which Emily paid for - leaving the old lady a tip, before walking back out. They quickly gathered up the rest of her school supplies before Zara decided she wanted an owl, Emily was unsure of this but Zara persuaded her it was an excellent way of keeping in contact, as she was unsure how she could do this at Hogwarts. They walked into the shop and Zara quickly decided upon a Tawny owl - which she named Izzy - which Emily said was her gift to Zara. They then made their way back onto the muggle streets and went home.
