CHARLOTTE'S POV:

Oh god, it's the first day of school again. Junior year, and then senior and then I'm done. This year is going to be so hard. SATs, looking into colleges, and trying to keep up with the work. Yay.

Luckily, my boyfriend and I are in a lot of classes together. That's nice. His name is Jacob and he is the sweetest thing in the entire world. He comes to all of my cheer competitions, helps me study, and is there when I need to cry. The downside however, is that he's a senior, which means he will be leaving to go train in the military when he graduates. That's going to be a real bummer. I don't even want to think about it.

Driving into the school parking lot, I see all of the freshman get off the buses and their siblings or parents cars. Oh I remember when I was like that. So innocent and wondering about Landon Prepatory school. It's a lot different than people see on the outside. You wouldn't guess that most of the upperclass men smoke cigarettes, and drink three glasses of wine right before bed. I'm not like that. I find smoking disgusting and wine smells like pee.

I see some of the juniors who I have known since freshman year. There's Laura, who turned into a pothead after sophmore year, her best friend Destiny, who is also a pothead, and a drunk. She's came to school drunk at least four times last year, but she's learned how to perform well in front of the deans and teachers. And then I see my best friend, who was in Paris for the summer.

Addison was PREGNANT?!

Oh my god, she looked at least 7 months in, that means... How the hell did she keep this a secret in May?! It's September, so that means... Well, now that I think about it... She was wearing looser clothing, and didn't hang out as much. But I just thought she was depressed about her boyfriend. Kaleb got sick in March, and then he passed away in July. No one knows the cause of death. The doctors couldn't figure it out. Oh my god, poor Addison. I haven't talked to her all summer. I hope she'll want to talk. She wouldn't talk to me at all this whole summer.

"Addison! Hey, girl! How was Paris," I ask, trying to the be obvious about the belly.

"Um, it was ok," she replies. She sounds so depressed. I can't bear to see her like this.

"Cool! Let's talk all about it during lunch today, okay? We'll go to the cafe' across the street!'

"Um, ok, sure." she says.

She was hurting bad. I hated seeing her like this, but I don't know what to do.

I get to my locker and I see Jacob standing there waiting. He gives me a kiss that lasts around a minute. He was so perfect.

"I missed you," he says.

"Not as much as I missed you," I replied. We've been together since freshman year. Nothing has ever came in between us, and nothing ever will.

"Babe, I really need to talk to you."

"What's up? And I won't be able to eat with you at lunch today. Addison came back from France, and she's pregnant! Don't say anything, I mean I'm sure people can tell, but just don't bri-"

"I kissed someone."

My heart stopped. I could not breathe, I could not do anything.
